During the New Year holidays, the Kazan hotels were 79% loaded

Over 180,000 tourists visited Kazan during the winter holidays, which is 6.5%
more compared to 2023. During this period, tourists spent approximately 1.2
billion rubles in the city, an increase of 19%. The average hotel load rate
during the holiday period was 79%, with a peak of 100% on January 3–5. Daria Sannikova, director
of the Kazan Tourism Development Committee reported these figures at a staff
meeting.
«Kazan is attractive for tourists. This is crucial for the development of
tourism in the city. In 2024, Kazan became even more well-known not only within
Russia, but also internationally due to hosting international events here.
Besides domestic tourists, as well as tourists from the neighboring regions, we
see the growing relations with countries such as China, India, Iran, Asia, and
Latin America. Therefore, it is necessary to set even more ambitious goals to
attract more tourists», – Mayor Ilsur Metshin noted,
adding that with the establishment of the BRICS+ Association of Cities and
Municipalities, new opportunities for promotion open up for Kazan.
According to Daria Sannikova, the Kazan Kremlin
remains the most popular destination for tourists. During the holiday season,
it welcomed 268,000 visitors, which is a 41% increase from the previous holiday
period. The Riviera Aqua Park was visited by 23,000 people in just two weeks,
an increase of 16%. The National Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan was
visited by 12,000 guests, which is 40% more compared to previous season.
Restaurants and cafes in the city saw high attendance
as well. «Most restaurants were booked for New Year's events in summer and
autumn. The occupancy rate was 100% and revenue increased 15% from the previous
New Year's period due to more guests», – the speaker said. The average check at city
restaurants was 1,200 rubles.
Most of the reviews from guests in Kazan were
positive. Tourists noted the beauty of the New Year decorations at various
locations. The speaker also mentioned the high ratings of most hotels on
booking platforms.
