This
year, more than 2.4 million square meters of roads were repaired and built in
Kazan, which is equivalent to 340 football fields or the size of the state of
Monaco. This achievement was made possible thanks to the preparations for the
BRICS Games and BRICS Summit, the implementation of the Safe High-Quality Roads
national project, and the support from the republic and country. As a result,
the proportion of Kazan's roads in good condition has reached 85%. Deputy Head
of the Executive Committee Igor Kulyazhev announced this at the Business Monday
meeting.
For
the BRICS Games and BRICS Summit in Kazan, 29 roads were repaired, lights were
installed in 22 locations, 21 walls were renovated, 12 staircases were updated,
and 420 meters of barrier road fencing and its components were replaced and
installed, approximately 1 thousand trash cans were installed.
Thirteen
elevators with insulated shafts have been installed in six aboveground
pedestrian crossings. These elevators with weight capacity up to 800 kg are
equipped with video surveillance cameras and convenient buttons for disabled
people. In addition, the underground pedestrian crossings along Baturina, Tashayak,
Said-Galeyev, and Nikolay Yershov streets have also been repaired.
«The
road repairs are carried out on a run-to-run basis. Today, 85% of them have
been brought to a standard – this is a significant figure. In 2013, we planned
to pave an area of 1 million square meters with asphalt. For us, this was an
Olympic goal. And this year, the area of road repairs and construction amounted
to 2.4 million square meters», – the Mayor emphasized. He added that the
majority of the city's roads are in good condition – the capital of Tatarstan
leads many Russian cities on this indicator, with an average of 54% across the
country.
his year, nine sections with a total length of approximately 6.3 kilometers
have been repaired under the Safe and High-Quality Roads national project.
The largest amount of funding was allocated for the construction and
reconstruction of major infrastructure facilities included in the Kazan Master
Plan.

Kirovsky city district, the reconstruction of Gorkovsky Highway is being
completed on the section from Muzikalnaya Street to M7 Highway. The second
stage of Voznesensky Tract is being built in the Sovetsky city district from
Pobedy Avenue to M7 highway, which is 7.5 kilometers long.
In
Vakhitovsky district, Tufan Minnullin and Hadi Taktash Streets are being
expanded to four lanes, with a bicycle path also being added. This road
