Before the BRICS summit in
Kazan, two apartment buildings on Bratiya Battalov Street in the Gaile
residential area are being prepared to accommodate volunteers, journalists, representatives
of the organizing committee, and others. These apartments can accommodate up to
2,000 people. Each apartment is equipped with furniture, house appliances, and
can accommodate up to four people. During an inspection, Mayor Ilsur Metshin of
Kazan visited the apartments to ensure their readiness for the event.
«We are preparing to welcome visitors
of the BRICS summit and will be using a variety of accommodation options. These
include not only hotels and guesthouses, but also two new apartment buildings
in the Gaile residential area. These buildings can accommodate up to 2,000
people, including journalists, administrative staff, and volunteers. Each
apartment is fully equipped with everything necessary, including furniture,
kitchenware, a kettle, and a microwave. It is our priority to ensure that all
visitors have comfortable working and leisure conditions. The first group has
already arrived»,- said Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan.
There are 160 one-, two-, and
three-bedroom apartments in one building, and 554 apartments in the other. One
of the houses has already been completed, and the second house will be put into
operation by 10 October.
The rooms are equipped with a
single bed, desk, chairs and wardrobe with safe. The kitchen is equipped with
microwave, oven and refrigerator, as well as kettle and dishes, the bathroom
provides personal hygiene products. The apartment will be cleaned regularly,
bed linen and towels will be changed regularly. A QR code is placed in the
apartment, which provides guests with information about the rules of
accommodation, useful tips and a map with nearby pharmacies and shops. A
shuttle service to the venue will be available as well.
Upon request, guests can enjoy
breakfast served by the Food and Social Nutrition Department.
The BRICS summit will take
place in Kazan on October 22-24. The Russian chairmanship will continue until
the end of 2024.
BRICS was established in 2006
with the participation of Russia, Brazil, India, and China. In 2011, South
Africa became a member of the group, and in 2024, Iran, Egypt, the United Arab
Emirates, Ethiopia, and Saudi Arabia joined. Several other countries have
observer status within BRICS.
Active preparations are
currently taking place in Kazan. The fronts of 38 apartment buildings and other
accommodation facilities are being renovated. 5.5 kilometers of utility
networks have already been replaced, and 23 out of 29 street sections planned
for improvement have been updated. The design of superior rooms in eight hotels
is still underway.
