the city – the international Unischool today. The head of the capital of
Tatarstan got acquainted with the program and conditions of education of school
students. In total, there are 15 private schools in Kazan for 2,500 students.
Unischool
opened in Kazan in 2017. It is located in the Sovetsky city district at the Art
City residential complex. Today, almost 200 children study there from the first
to the seventh grades. The school's management plans to increase the number of
students to 300.
Victoria
Cherkesova, the principal of the school, told the Mayor that the educational
process is built in such a way that children are trained according to Russian
standards before lunch, and after that according to the club system. School
students study Tatar, English, Chinese and Spanish.
Special focus
is learning languages with native speakers. For example, the institution
employs teachers from Canada, Brazil, Pakistan, India, the Philippines and
Uganda. In total, the school's staff includes 32 teachers, 11 of them are
foreigners. The school also has its own tutors who accompany the children
during school breaks and lunch time.
The area of
school is more than 7,500 square meters, it has a swimming pool and three gyms.
Children can choose an individual sport - badminton, fencing and swimming, as
well as football.
“Last
month, our student became the bronze medalist of the Russian Badminton
Championship and took gold as part of the team in the under-13 age category.
Last year, our boys' team born in 2011 also became the champion of Kazan in
mini-football and this year the boys born in 2012 took third place. The school
has its own women's football team,”- said Victoria Cherkesova.
To gain
professional skills, the school has equipped a sewing class, a carpentry
workshop, and a cooking class. Students also have access to a psychological
relaxation room, a library, and a room for individual classes. Children are
provided with four meals a day, including vegetarian meals.
