In Kazan, 17 schools will open in the new school year after the
renovation, one of them is the Tatar–English school № 16 in the Privolzhsky
region. Recreation areas, class rooms, a swimming pool and an assembly hall
with 140 seats have been updated here. There are also plans to open an
open–type sports and recreation complex in autumn, and children from nearby
neighborhoods will be able to visit it. The Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin
visited the school and inspected its readiness for the new school year.
“A new school year will begin in a few days. Kazan schools are fully
ready after the renovation, workers are making the finishing touches. This year
we have overhauled 17 schools under the federal program. We systematically
create conditions for our children and teachers from year to year – we hope
that the new school year will be successful, both for children and for teachers
and parents,”- Ilsur Metshin said.
On September 1, more than 1,200 children will go to school № 16, 73
teachers work in the institution. Eighty schoolchildren will go to the first
grade. Classes at the educational institution are held in two shifts, despite
this, sports and creative clubs are open at the school. The institution can be
called a full–time school, since children receive a diverse education without
leaving it - this is convenient for both students and parents.
Gulfiya Khalimova, director of the school, told the head of the city
that under the renovation program, recreation areas, physics and chemistry
classrooms, laboratories, a swimming pool for elementary school students and an
assembly hall with 140 seats, where modern multimedia equipment was installed,
were updated in the institution.
In autumn, an open–type sports and recreation complex will open on the
territory of the school. Not only students, but also residents of nearby
neighborhoods will be able to visit it. The work was completed by 11%: the construction
workers carried out the pitch works, arranged the lower sandy layer of the
football pitch, prepared the foundation for laying asphalt. The installation of
the base of the drainage system is underway.
According to the chairman of the Committee of Physical Culture and
Sports Linar Garipov, an outdoor sports facility includes volleyball,
basketball and football grounds, as well as four athletics tracks.
The Mayor noted that the availability of such facilities is very
important. “It is important for us that the sports infrastructure works for the
neighborhood, not only for school educational process. More and more residents
of Kazan lead a healthy lifestyle and want to play sports. In general, so that
students and residents of nearby neighborhoods can run and play sports here in
their free time from the educational process. We have such an impoved
neighborhood around us, so for our residents who lead a healthy lifestyle,
there will be new conditions for sports with the whole family,”- Ilsur Metshin
commented.
