The Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin instructed to develop proposals to
provide the healthcare industry with personnel through interaction with
schools. The head of the city announced this at a meeting of the Executive
Committee of the Kazan City Duma. As of today, three specialized medical
classes have been opened at the Kazan schools, their number is proposed to be
doubled.
The issue of the lack of qualified medical personnel was raised by the
chairman of the Permanent Commission for the Health Protection of Citizens and
the Environment, Rafael Shavaliyev. He noted that a lot of work has been done
in this area, wages in the industry are at the same level with private medical
organizations, at the same time there are not enough specialists in
polyclinics.
According to him, it is important to start educating future doctors from
school. Rafael Shavaliyev said that today medical classes have been opened in
three schools of the city – school No. 116, No. 139 and No. 179.
Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, noted that there is a shortage of
personnel in various areas, so it is important not only that the applicant
enters the university, but also that he continues to work in the profession in
the future. High-quality medicine is especially important.
He noted that large projects are being implemented in the city under the
federal programs. The leadership of Tatarstan pays special attention to the development
of the infrastructure of the medical industry. “Our main hospitals –Republican
Clinical Hospital, cancer center, City Hospital - 7 and other large clinics –
today are not inferior to the best European clinics in terms of medical
equipment and technologies. According to all indicators, we see that all
investments were absolutely correct and give results,”- I. Metshin said.
According to the Mayor, one of the tasks of the Kazan City Duma is to
continue to educate a healthy generation and promote a healthy lifestyle from
childhood. “The number of citizens who regularly play sports and lead a healthy
lifestyle is growing,”- the head of the city stressed.
He added that another task is the career guidance of the younger
generation. “Now there is everything so that children who want to treat people
can become doctors,”- the Mayor is sure. I. Metshin instructed the deputy head
of the Executive Committee of the city Guzel Sagitova to develop proposals for
providing the healthcare system with personnel. In particular, to determine the
schools where these subjects will be in demand and to hold a series of meetings
with students. The head of the city also proposed to form specialized classes
near medical institutions so that it would be convenient for schoolchildren to
attend supplementary classes.
