Kazan “Stars of Hospitality” competition granted the status of a regional event

The Kazan competition of professional skills among the employees of the tourism, restaurant and hotel industries “Stars of Hospitality” for the first time with the support of the Association of Volga Region Cities granted the status of a regional event. The Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin at the Business Monday meeting noted that holding such a competition contributes to maintaining the status of one of the main tourist destinations of the country.

According to the results of the first half of the year, 1 million 600 thousand tourists visited the capital of Tatarstan, the head of the city said. Presently, the hotel occupancy is about 95%. “We wish the win to Kazan participants of the “Stars of Hospitality” at the regional stage of the competition,”- the Mayor said.

The competition will be held in 2 stages: the first is municipal, which Kazan and the participating cities of the Association of Volga Cities conduct independently, the second is interregional, which will host a festival “Stars of Volga Region Hospitality”. The best representatives of the hospitality industry from the Volga region cities will come to the capital of Tatarstan.

Director of the Kazan Tourism Development Committee, winners and prize-winners will be selected in 9 nominations: The best porter, The best maid, The best manager for domestic and inbound tourism, The best restaurant manager, The best waiter, The best bartender, The best cook, The best pastry chef and The best city blogger.

The winners of the city competition will receive a cash grant and certificates from sponsors. They will get a chance to perform at the regional stage of the festival.

Acceptance of applications is open until August 31. Employees of the tourism, restaurant and hotel industry of Kazan who have submitted an application form and the necessary documents can take part in the competition.
