The overhaul a low-rise apartment building at 46
Patrice Lumumba street in the Sovetsky district of Kazan is being completed. The
Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin inspected the progress of the work today.
Two-storey three-entrance house on Patrice Lumumba
street, located in the heart of the Sovetsky district, was built in 1937 for
airport employees.
Today, the house is unrecognizable – during the
overhaul, the roof and facade were renovated, utilities were replaced,
entrances were repaired, and the power supply system was updated.
Not only the
house was transformed, its residents also received a new yard. According to the
Our yard republican program, the roadway and sidewalks were repaired, lighting
was replaced, and trash enclosures were installed for separate waste
collection. At the beginning of November, a playground and a workout area will be
installed in the yard, and graffiti will decorate the territory.
“Sites like these are the long – awaited for us, - Ilsur
Metshin noted. – It would take 150 years for residents to collect the money
that we have spent on the overhaul of the house. Thanks to the government of
the republic, which decided to renovate the housing stock, and, of course, to
Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov for the yards renovation program”.
One of the reasons why more funds are needed to renovate
low-rise buildings is the small number of owners living in such houses.
