Kazan and Harare are twin cities
(KZN.RU, December 11, by Taisiya Basharkina). The capital of Tatarstan, Kazan, and the capital of Zimbabwe, Harare, became sister cities. Mayor of Kazan, Ilsur Metshin, and Mayor of Harare, Muchadeyi Masunda, signed a cooperation agreement in Florence.
It should be noted that both mayors attended the meetings of the World Council of the United Cities and Local Governments in the Italian city of Florence.
In accordance with this agreement, the parties intend to promote co-operation between the municipal authorities, to develop exchanges and cooperation in the conservation of historical monuments and cultural heritage and to promote tourism. The cities are also planning to exchange information and share experience in the fields of urban design, architecture, transportation and communications, organization and city management.
