(KZN.RU,
May 27, Alena Miroshnichenko). This year, 8 public spaces will be improved in
Kazan within the framework of the priority project “Formation of a comfortable
urban environment”. One of them is a pedestrian boulevard on Absalyamov Street.
The new section from Chetaev street to Chistopolskaya street will allow
creating transit with various functional zones and connecting Pobedy Park and
the Kazanka embankment. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of the capital of Tatarstan,
noted today at the Business Monday, that thanks to a new promenade, citizens
will be able to walk from Pobedy Park to Bulak, Kaban Lake and the Zoo.
4 out of 8
sites, where improvement work will be carried out this year, are new. These are
the entrances to the Dubrava forest zone, the coastal zone of Lake
Komsomolskoe, the area around the Lebyazhie lakes, a monument and pedestal in
the Ordzhonikidze Square. At the other four sites, the work began in previous
years and continues in 2019, said Igor Kulyazhev, the deputy head of the
Executive Committee and the chairman of the Committee for External Improvement.
The system
work on the improvement of parks and squares of the city began in 2011. “This
work that gave a start for the development of such republican projects as the
Year of Parks and Squares in 2015, the Year of Water Protection Zones in 2016,
the Year of Ecology and Public Spaces in 2017, which eventually turned into
Federal priority project “Formation of a comfortable urban environment”, said
the speaker. Over the past 8 years, 50 recreation sites have been updated in
the capital of Tatarstan, 20 have been created from scratch. More than 4.5
billion rubles spent on the improvement of these territories. As a result, the
total area of park areas increased by 131 hectares. Today, Kazan has 143 parks
and squares with a total area of 379 hectares.
This year,
1 billion 488 million rubles will be allocated for the improvement of public
spaces in Kazan. Federal funding is 458 million rubles, and the republican
budget is 1 billion 30 million rubles.
As for the
year 2019, the works on the improvement of the Walk of Fame in the Yudino,
begun in the autumn of 2018, have already been completed this year.
The work
continues on the design of a pedestrian boulevard on Absalyamov Street. “The
new section from Chetaev Street to Chistopolskaya Street will allow creating
transit with various functional zones and connecting Pobedy Park and the
Kazanka embankment”, explained I. Kulyazhev. The main compositional idea of the
boulevard will be the images of green islands with trees, shrubs and areas for
children's games, sports. They will be connected by pedestrian routes. The
speaker also noted that as part of the implementation of the second stage of
improvement near the house №28 on Absalyamov Street, it is planned to create a
central area of the boulevard with a multifunctional pavilion. And the
children's play space “Laboratorium” will open in the area of the house №16.
Ilsur
Metshin explained that the section from Chetaev Street to Chistopolskaya Street
will be connected by a single promenade. It will include the Pobedy Park, a
pedestrian boulevard along Absalyamov Street, parks “Belye Tsvety” and
“Stambul”, the Chasha, the Kazanka Embankment, Leninskaya Dam, where it is also
planned to make pedestrian traffic, Bulak, Lake Kaban and the Zoo.
Igor
Kulyazhev also spoke about other projects scheduled for implementation this
year. “The priority goal in the design of the entrance to “Dubrava” is to
preserve the existing landscape of the forest zone. The project involves the
organization of the entrance zone from the side of Dubravnaya Street, which is
very much in demand by users of the forest park, and the improvement of the
adjacent territory”, said I. Kulyazhev. The essence of the object is the image
of tree roots, manifested in the lines of footpaths, functional areas, as well
as in the elements of the playground, swings and benches. Renting tents, cafes
and a warm bus stop will also reflect the image of the woodcuts, they will be
made of natural materials, explained I. Kulyazhev.
The program
plans to restore a pedestal and a monument to the famous Bolshevik Sergo
Ordzhonikidze in the Ordzhonikidze Square. The monument was made of plaster,
but eventually collapsed, and it had to be dismantled. It is currently in
storage. The speaker marked that the work on the restoration of the monument is
important since it is a landmark object for the historical part of Sotsgorod.
Until the 50s of the last century, the settlement named after Sergo
Ordzhonikidze was located on this territory.
In addition
to parks, city embankments are being landscaped in Kazan. “We received a large
number of appeals about the need to improve the beach of Lake Komsomolskoe in
the residential area of Derbyshki”, said I. Kulyazhev. Thus, since December of
last year, meetings with residents and community activists were held. They
considered and discussed the improvement project. Its implementation will start
this year. The main task will be to clean the bottom of pollution and silt
deposits. In addition, it is planned to create convenient pedestrian connections,
establish facilities to illuminate the area, equip the beach with small
architectural forms, plant shrubs and trees.
The work
continues on the implementation of the project of the Russian-Chinese
consortium “Turenscape” on the improvement of embankments of the Kaban lake
system. I. Kulyazhev reported that this year, it will be extended by 1.5 km:
from the building of the fitness center to Mardzhani Street. The new site will
be divided into 4 functional areas: sport, historical part, forest, and bridge.
Pedestrian paths will be laid along the embankment, and a pedestrian path will
appear along the water. In total, about 30 new facilities will be created
there, including observation sites, an amphitheater, a renewed school of
water-rowing sports, a platform for yoga, a sports field, a pavilion with a
mother-and-child room, food court, a swing, recreation areas, and a barbecue.
“We plan to
start work in June and complete it in the fall so that residents can use the
facility this year. Kaban Lake is a fairly long territory, so perhaps, we will
take it in parts”, explained the chairman of the Committee for External
Improvement.
The
improvement of the coastal zone of the Lebyazhie lakes system starts in 2019.
The concept of improvement is based on uniting the lake space formed by a
hiking, skiing and cycling routes. Also this year, they will equip the beach on
the Bolshoe Lebyazhie Lake. The main pedestrian connections will be laid there,
lighting, toilet modules and beach equipment will be installed, as well as
engineering networks.
“Due to the
lack of funds, we could not use our water area. And the water space is the
wealth that not every city has. But the situation is changing today. The shores
of Kazanka, Bulak, and lakes receive improvement, and this is a completely
different quality of life for residents”, said Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of
Kazan.
