(KZN.RU, May 20, Alena Miroshnichenko). A record sum of 4 million 455 thousand rubles was collected at the school fairs of good in Kazan. The money will be spent on the treatment and support of 36 children. Last Saturday, the Fairs of Good brought together thousands of caring Kazan families who bought crafts and sweets made by schoolchildren. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, thanked children, their parents and teachers for the participation and organization of fairs. Rustem Gafarov, the first deputy head of the Kazan Executive Committee, reported about the event at the traditional staff meeting today.
13-year-old Karina diagnosed with degenerative myopia and 12-year-old Ilya with type 1 diabetes are among the children who will receive help. In addition, part of the funds will be directed to the purchase of interactive equipment for the Kazan school №61 for children with disabilities, said the speaker. “All 36 needy children were helped by their peers, who know them personally, communicate with them and understand who they were helping. It is very important that charity becomes the norm for Kazan schoolchildren. The past event once again showed that Kazan citizens’ hearts are open to good deeds”, said R. Gafarov.
Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, reminded that at one time, the children initiated the fairs of good. It began with the school №19 in the Privolzhsky district, then there were 9 schools participating, and today the spring and autumn fairs of good are held on a large scale. Children take part in them, involve their parents, grandmothers, grandfathers, neighbors, said the Mayor. “A small streamlet formed a river of goodness in Kazan. The 36 children who receive real help are a very big number and a very good result. But the main thing is that young people since childhood understand the importance of helping their neighbors. It is necessary that they carried this feeling through their entire lives. Then the task we set ourselves would be realized: for Kazan to be kind, for us to hear and help each other”, marked I. Metshin.
Fairs of Good are organized in Kazan by the Department of Education, district administrations, and the non-profit organization “Good Kazan”.
