The road on Bratiev Battalovykh Street opened after an overhaul in Kazan

(KZN.RU, October 16, Ksenia Shvetsova). Today, a long-awaited event was held for residents of the micro-districts “M-14” and “Lesnoy Gorodok”. The road opened on Bratiev Battalovykh Street, where major repairs were carried out. The reconstruction was made on the section from the Orenburgskt Tract to Belye Rosy Street with a total area of 39.2 thousand square meters. The roadway was expanded to four lanes, and the bus traffic scheme was extended by 3 stops. Rustam Nigmatullin, the first deputy prime minister of the RT, Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, Foat Valiev, a deputy of the State Council of the RT, the general director of the contracting organization OAO “Alekseevskdorstroy”, attended the opening ceremony.

The reconstruction was carried out by the contracting company OAO “Alekseevskdorstroy”; the “Glavtatdortrans” was the customer of the works. The complex of works included the extension of the 1664 km length of the road to 4 lanes 3.5 m wide, the construction of sidewalks from 2 sides 3 m wide, the reconstruction of the water supply, sewerage, gas supply, communications, and power supply networks. In addition, new outdoor lighting networks with LED lights, bus stops with pavilions, road safety elements, traffic lights, and storm sewer networks were built during the overhaul of the road.

In general, the road industry in the republic shows good results, noted Rustam Nigmatullin. Thus, 31 streets were reconstructed in Tatarstan’s capital on the eve of the World Cup. He thanked the road workers for their work and congratulated them on the upcoming holiday the Day of Road Worker, which is celebrated on October 21. “Great results were achieved thanks to the national project “Safe and Quality roads”. Last year, 155.5 km of roads were repaired, this year 88 new roads were created and 300 were repaired. And the work will be continued”, said R. Nigmatullin, referring to the workers-employees of the contracting organization. “Your work is more visible than ever, people themselves control its quality. Millions of residents and guests of our republic drive those roads daily. Therefore, on the eve of your professional holiday, I want to congratulate you and thank you for your work. This is a really high-quality wide road with all the necessary infrastructure”.

The Mayor of Kazan reminded that many citizens, mostly residents of micro-districts “M-14” and “Lesnoy Gorodok”, were eagerly waiting for the completion of the road on Bratiev Battalovykh Street. “It is a great honor for me and great pleasure on the eve of the Day of Road Worker to congratulate one of the best teams of our republic at the opening of the road section on Bratiev Battalovykh Street”, said I. Metshin. “We take new levels every year, and this year we were able to master 5.5 billion rubles. I want to thank the leadership of the republic and our President Rustam Minnikhanov for this tremendous help. Today we are among the leaders in the quantity and quality of major repairs and the construction of new roads. This, of course, affects the mood, improvement, and beauty of our city. I hope we will keep up the pace of work”. The head of the city also congratulated the employees of the contracting organization on the upcoming professional holiday and thanked them for their high-quality work, including during the preparation for the World Cup.

After the greeting, the First Deputy Prime Minister of the RT and the Mayor of Kazan turned over a symbolic road sign, which opened the passage in the reconstructed section. After that, a convoy of trucks drove along the road, which informed citizens about the opening.

Before the start of the reconstruction, Bratiev Battalovykh Street was a 2-lane road 7 meters wide. There was no lighting and sidewalks, which was unsafe for pedestrians and drivers. In addition, after the commissioning of the M-14 houses and the expansion of housing construction, which is being conducted in the micro-district, many complaints were received from residents about traffic jams. Now this problem is in the past. After the repair, the road turned into a wide 4-lane avenue that fully meets all requirements.

In total, 397 million rubles were allocated for roadworks on Bratiev Battalovykh on the section from the Orenburgsky Tract to Belye Rosy Street.

The reconstruction of the road is a long-awaited event not only for drivers who were forced to put up with kilometer traffic jams, but also for public transport passengers. The citizens have repeatedly asked to solve the problem of transport service and extend the bus routes to the micro-district “M-14”. Now, after the reconstruction of the road, the scheme of the bus route №55 “39 kvartal – the Railway Station – Ferma-2” has been extended by 2.6 km. Three new stops will be introduced: “The Shopping center “Port”, “Bratiev Battalovykh”, “RC Lesnoy Gorodok”. The traffic interval on the route will be 8 minutes.

The number of buses on the route will increase by 2 units and will consist of 16 ones. Low-floor buses will be used for transportation adapted for people with limited mobility.

Changes in the passport of the bus route №55 will be made after the survey and coordination of traffic with the Traffic Police of the Ministry of Interior in Kazan. The route №55 will run to the RC “Lesnoy Gorodok” from 3 November.

At the end of the opening ceremony, Rustam Nigmatullin and Ilsur Metshin noted the merits of the best road workers and presented them gratitude letters.

This year, financial resources in the amount of 5.5 billion rubles were allocated for the implementation of road works in Kazan. 1.6 billion rubles for the implementation of the priority project “Safe and Quality roads”, 2.9 billion rubles for bringing the road network of Kazan to the normative state and 1 billion rubles for the repair of yard areas.

Igor Kulyazhev, the deputy head of the Kazan Executive Committee and the chairman of the Committee for External Improvement, Andrey Lobov, the head of Vakhitovsky and Privolzhsky districts’ administration, the Director of the GKU “Glavtatdortrans”, and others also attended the opening ceremony.
