(KZN.RU, October 8, Ksenia Shvetsova). A new type of free survey was launched this year along with a general medical examination: onco-screening for citizens from 49 to 73 years old. In general, more than 116 thousand Kazan residents passed the first stage of a general medical examination over the 8 months of this year. During the inspections, about 10 thousand cases of various risk factors were identified. Ilnur Khalfiev, the head of the Health Department of the Ministry of Health of the RT in Kazan, told about the first results of preventive examinations at the Business Monday today.
A disease prevention is of particular importance in matters of maintaining health and increasing life expectancy. In recent years, the number of citizens who are undergoing medical examinations has increased markedly, According to Ilnur Khalfiev, this was largely influenced by the fact that health insurance organizations began to actively invite citizens who are subject to general medical examinations to the polyclinic and monitor the usefulness of the work being done.
This year, 2 types of preventive examinations of the population are carried out for the first time. In addition to the general clinical examination of certain groups of the adult population, which has been held since 2013 at intervals of 3 years, citizens from 49 to 73 years old can also undergo screening once every 2 years. As I. Khalfiev noted, this is done for early detection of malignant tumors of the mammary gland and large intestine, including mammography and the examination of feces for hidden blood. To date, more than 16 thousand people have used this service.
The results of the first stage of clinical examination among Kazan showed that 60% of the examined residents already have chronic diseases. 35377 cases are diseases of the cardiovascular system, 11805 cases are diseases of the endocrine system. More than 10 thousand diseases were detected for the first time, more than 10 thousand cases with various risk factors were found during the examinations, noted the speaker. Patients with suspicions of certain diseases are sent to the second stage of the clinical examination for a more thorough health study. Over 8 months, more than 19 thousand people passed the second stage of clinical examination.
“It is important that clinical examination allows detecting oncological diseases in the early stages when patients have no clinical symptoms”, said I. Khalfiev. “During the first half of this year, 1981 cases of suspicion of malignant neoplasms were revealed, which were confirmed in 126 cases. This is the first and second stages of the disease in more than 70% of cases, which are promising in terms of further treatment”.
The growth of those who want to undergo medical examination this year was 7% to 77% of the population among the citizens of working age. The management of enterprises and organizations plays an important role in this matter, noted the speaker.
“I want to thank those citizens who care about their health and come to preventive measures. There are a lot of such people, but there is also a part of citizens who don’t have this issue in priority. I urge everyone to come for a medical examination”, said I. Khalfiev.
Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, urged the citizens to be attentive to their health and be sure to pass preventive examinations. “Clinical examination is an important project that allows all residents to check their health status for free”, said I. Metshin. “I am glad that our colleagues and employers change their attitude to this issue. Please support this direction. It is important to pay attention to your health, to lead a healthy lifestyle”.
In order to pass medical examination, it is necessary to come to your clinic at the place of residence and contact the office of medical prevention. There, the patient is issued a route list on which he can pass the medical examination. Sometimes the equipment of a particular medical facility does not allow for a full examination. In this case, the patient is sent to other clinics and hospitals. For example, this situation may occur during mammography. In this case, doctors strongly recommend not to leave the examination and bring it to the end. Ilnur Khalfiev also added that patients can pass the medical examination in the evening after work or, if it is more convenient, on Saturday. For this, it is necessary to warn the clinic staff that this day is scheduled for a medical examination.
