(KZN.RU, August 27, Alsu Safina). As a result of last year, the difference in the average score between schools with high and low results in the Russian was reduced by 1.8 points, in mathematics by 6.2 points. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, noted at the city's August conference of Educators that work in this direction should be continued to create equal conditions for all Kazan schoolchildren.
“We must continue to work on reducing the gap between leaders and low-performing schools. We cannot act boldly, we don’t need fine reports, but stable evolution”, said the Mayor. “We must create equal conditions for obtaining quality education for all children”.
Ilsur Metshin noted that, following the results of the unified state examination, Kazan competes with Moscow and St. Petersburg. At the same time, the Mayor drew attention to the decline in the results of the USE on computer science. He noted that this is an important area.
The number of excellent students grew two times from 46 to 89, and 4 times in chemistry (from 5 to 20). “This industry is more in demand than ever in our republic, where the oil processing industry is developing”, said I. Metshin. The head of the city thanked the teachers for their work. The largest number of excellent students (10 people) were at the school №131, 7 at the IT-lyceum KFU, 5 were the graduates of the gymnasium №122.
8 graduates scored100 points in two subjects. According to the head of the city, such results would be impossible without the support of the parents. “Parents whose children received 100 points in two subjects at once are our national treasure. Today, these parents are here, and we will lay a good tradition to honor them every August teachers' meeting”, said the Mayor of Kazan and presented municipal awards to parents and teachers.
5474 people passed the Unified State Exam in Kazan in 2018. 28 students passed the state final exam (HSE) for children with disabilities. The test scores for 8 subjects out of 14 turned out to be higher than last year's.
The Mayor also noted the successes of Kazan schoolchildren at the Olympiads. “Kazan schoolchildren are traditionally in the top three of the school Olympiads. The number of winners of the All-Russian Olympiad of schoolchildren increased by 20%. And according to the number of prize places in the All-Russian Olympiad, Kazan has been keeping the third place after Moscow and St. Petersburg for several years in a row. Kazan schoolchildren had 59 victories in international Olympiads”, said I. Metshin. He also said that the number of schools included in the top 500 best Russian schools for the year increased from 12 to 16, and the high school №131 is among the top 25 Russian schools since 2015, which is a great achievement.
