(KZN.RU, April 16, Alsu Safina). Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, Natalia Fishman, an assistant to the President of the RT, and Ildar Khairullin, the head doctor of the medical institution, discussed today at the working meeting the improvement of the territory and the functional saturation of the complex of the Republican Clinical Oncology Dispensary. They examined three concepts, in the development of which students and teachers of KSUAE took part, as well as architects of the “Architecturny Desant”.
Participants of the working meeting examined part of the territory of the Republican Oncology Dispensary. Ildar Khairullin, the head doctor of the medical institution, told that in the future, it is planned to hand over to the oncology center the territory and the building of the Republican Clinical Antiphthisic Dispensary, which should move to a new building on Chaliapin Street. After that, the territory of the oncological dispensary will increase to 14 hectares.
I. Khairullin drew attention to the fact that the complex of the oncology dispensary has being built since the 70s and has been delivered in stages. “Now except for the medical and technological component, the premises, we want to put in order the adjacent, so-called healing environment”, noted the head doctor of the medical institution. “It is necessary that our patients and their relatives when they come here, feel a sense of comfort, respect for them. That they would have a place for recreation, meetings with relatives and friends. All this should be solved within the framework of a single concept, similar or better than those presented in other countries”. Important factors are the convenient access to the medical facility, parking, tracks, navigation, etc.
According to the chief of the onco-center, all the buildings of the medical institution are visited by about 2.5 thousand patients a day. “The oncology center has implemented a unique experience for Russia when oncological patients go right to the dispensary”, noted Ildar Khairullin.
At the end of last year, he asked the assistant to the President of the RT to consider the possibility of improving the territory of the dispensary as part of a program to develop public spaces and create a comfortable urban environment. After this, work was begun to create an architectural concept for the development of the RCOD complex. As a result of the workshop, the experts approved 3 concepts, in the development of which the students and professors of KSUAE took part, as well as the architects of the bureau “Architecturny Desant”. All the principal decisions and ideas, as a result, were collected in a separate album. The participants of the working meeting got acquainted with them.
Anastasia Yaremenko, the leading architect of the bureau “Architecturny Desant”, presented her ideas to the head of the city. She noted that the project-proposal for creating a patient-oriented environment that would include functional, architectural, design, town-planning solutions, and improvement, could become a pilot project not only for Tatarstan but also for Russia. According to Anastasia Yaremenko, the main idea of the proposed concept is that the patient should not be isolated and continue to lead the life he had before the illness.
Even now, concerts are held weekly in one of the buildings, where professional artists and students perform.
An information center where one could learn about the treatment of diseases, the technologies used, etc. was among other ideas is the construction of a rehabilitation center. The work on the project of complex development of the oncological dispensary complex will be continued.
Damir Fattakhov, the first deputy head of the Executive Committee, Igor Kulyazhev, the deputy head of the Executive Committee and the chairman of the Committee for External Improvement, Ilnur Khalfiev, the head of Health Department of the Ministry of Health of the RT for Kazan, Daria Tolovenkova, the deputy chief architect of Kazan, Marat Aizatullin, the director of the Main Investment and Construction Department, and others also took part in the event.
