I. Metshin examined the modernized boiler room on Mushtari Street

(KZN.RU, April 13, Ekaterina Vislavskaya). Today, Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, estimated the efficiency of a completely refurbished and overhauled boiler room on Mushtari Street, №11a. It became possible to reduce gas consumption and automate all processes after installing new equipment. The Mayor urged the management of the AO “Kazenergo” to continue the modernization of other facilities in order to meet the new heating season fully armed.

The boiler room was launched in 1985 and hasn’t been repaired until last year. However, it got a new life in 2017 between the heating seasons. The boiler house serves about 13 consumers, including the Republican Clinical Hospital №2, the Republican Clinical Psychiatric Hospital named after Academician V. Bekhterev, the Kazan State Medical Academy, and 3 residential buildings.

The Mayor assessed the results of the work. He was accompanied by Iskander Giniyatullin, the deputy chairman of the Kazan Executive Committee and the chairman of the Housing and Communal Services Committee, and Rustam Abdulkhakov, the general director of the AO “Kazenergo”. The foundation was reinforced, a pitched roof was installed, the facade was updated, and new equipment was purchased in the boiler house. Thanks to the new automatic gas burners, the efficiency of the boiler equipment increased from 82% to 94%. If the gas consumption to the boiler room was 423 cubic meters per hour before reconstruction, then after it – 369 cubic meters per hour. Due to that, the savings exceeded 1 million 548 thousand rubles a year.

All processes on the boiler room are automated, the dispatcher monitors its work at a distance from the central dispatch service. The company saves 336 thousand rubles a year thanks to the fact that employees do not need to be present in the boiler room. The head of the “Kazenergo” specified that the overhaul of the boiler room, for which about 31 million rubles was allocated, will pay off within 10-12 years. This is the optimal term for heat power plants.

However, overhaul and reconstruction require an additional 18% of the boiler plants of the “Kazenergo” or 23 facilities. The Mayor of Kazan asked how the objects that first require repair are identified. The head of the “Kazenergo” answered that this is done by the technical council on the basis of the conclusion of the invited expert organization. For example, this year it was planned to overhaul the boiler room on Portovaya Street, №17. But because of the unstable ground, a part of the roof collapsed even before the work began. This year, a modern block-modular boiler room will be in its place. “By the winter, we will restore it in current volumes to solve the tasks that lie in this area”, Iskander Giniyatullin reported to Ilsur Metshin.

“The equator has been passed. The reliability status is improving every year. And it is important that in the allotted summer period, those problems that we have, including the boiler room on Portovaya Street, would be eliminated”, said the Mayor and wished good luck in the preparation for the new heating season.
