The International exhibition “Tourism and Sport” opened in Kazan

(KZN.RU, April 12, Ekaterina Vislavskaya). Today the 23rd international specialized exhibition “Tourism and Sport” was opened in Kazan in the exhibition center “Kazanskaya Yarmarka”. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, noted at the opening of the traditional forum, the exhibition gives an opportunity for representatives of the hospitality industry to exchange best practices and attract the maximum number of guests on the eve of the World Football Championship. The number of the enterprises-manufacturers of souvenirs on republic has increased in 5 times for 8 years.

The exhibition “Tourism and Sport” is one of the most significant events in the tourist and sports industry of the Volga region. The Mayor noted that the geography of its participants is growing: representatives of Russian regions and other countries come here. This year 154 companies from 20 regions of Russia, Belarus, China, Kazakhstan, and Turkey take part in it. They offer various types of recreation, health, and treatment, opportunities for sports, transport services. “Tourism has firmly become one of the priority directions for the development of Kazan and Tatarstan. This became possible due to the thorough work. The millennium of Kazan, the Universiade, the world championship in water sports – each such event opens Kazan and Tatarstan. We have new friends around the world”, said Isur Metshin. “This year we declared the Year of Hospitality and look forward to the guests for the World Cup coming. This is a landmark event for our country. Today, there is an opportunity to exchange opinions, so that even more tourists will come to Kazan”.

The participants of the ceremony inspected the exposition. Rafis Burganov, the deputy prime minister of the RT and the minister of Education and Science of the RT, Marat Galeev, the chairman of the State Council Committee on Economy, Investments and Entrepreneurship, Sergei Ivanov, the chairman of the State Committee for Tourism of the RT, Evgenia Lodvigova, the first deputy head of Kazan, Ildar Shakirov, the deputy head of the Kazan Executive Committee, and others took part in it. The capital of Tatarstan is represented there by a separate stand. Experts of the Committee of the Tourism Development tell visitors about the tourist routes in Kazan, river excursions, national fast food, active entertainment for adults and children. “I am pleased to present to your attention our stand, which has already traveled through four international exhibitions in Madrid, Berlin, Paris, Istanbul. It is very important that the leading tour operators of the city work with us on incoming tourism. We demonstrate our gastronomic delights, treat Tatar national dishes and tea. The participants of the exhibitions can plunge into the atmosphere of hospitable Kazan with the help of 3D glasses”, said Daria Sannikova, the director of the Tourism Development Committee of Kazan.

The Mayor of Kazan became interested in the presentations of Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Chuvashia. Afterward, he examined the works of masters of folk art crafts with a large selection of souvenirs. Ilsur Metshin discussed with entrepreneurs the nuances of their work, including the possibility of opening additional venues for the weekend fair of souvenirs with an interactive program and master classes. “In 2010, there were 50 enterprises and 15 individual craftsmen in the base of souvenir producers of Tatarstan. And today there are 250 enterprises”, said Dilyara Safina, chairman of the Committee on Souvenir Products and Goods of Folk Art Crafts at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the RT. She presented the Mayor the assortment. “There are new faces, young enterprises, modern products, which are produced using modern technologies, and it can be represented in the framework of any activities”.

The second congress and exhibition project Kazan Event Expo was opened and the second international culinary contest named after Yunus Ahmetzyanov were launched simultaneously with the exhibition “Tourism and Sports”. The competition is organized by the Association of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers of the RT, the Committee for the Development of Tourism of Kazan, and the Exhibition Center “Kazanskaya Yarmarka”. It is devoted to the author of numerous books on culinary arts, which made a great contribution to reviving the traditions of Tatar national cuisine and enriching it with new ideas. Professional chefs working in the public catering sector and students of educational institutions under the supervision of jury members perform competitive tasks. They prepare dishes of varying complexity and composition. On the closing day of the exhibition on April 14, the best chefs will receive valuable prizes.

Ilsur Metshin visited the culinary contest and then went to the pavilion №1 where the exposition “Hospitable Tatarstan” opened on the basis of multimedia equipment of the historical park “Russia is My History”. Videos are broadcast on large screens about Sviyazhsk, Kazan, sports competitions and stadiums, restaurants and Internet projects, all information, useful for tourists. It is open to visitors to the exhibition “Tourism and Sport” for 3 days. The exhibition “Tourism and Sport” will close on April 14.
