I. Metshin: “The football championship will last a month, and all the transformations will remain in Kazan”

The capital of Tatarstan should leave good impressions among the guests and stand out among nine other cities that host the World Cup, said Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, during the program “Theme” on the TV channel “Efir”. A large amount of roadworks and improvement of a number of facilities, which will be completed before the summer, is planned in Kazan for the championship.

One of the main gifts for all residents of the city, which will remain after the championship, is updated roads. 5.5 billion rubles was allocated from the republic's budget for the repair of Kazan roads this year.

The list of planned for repairs included roads that are preparing for the World Cup: Sibgat Hakim, Korolenko, Orenburgsky Tract, and a number of others, as well as those streets, which received the largest number of complaints from residents of the city through the system “People's control”. “These works are held for the Championship. But it will only last for a month, and all these transformations will remain in Kazan”, said I. Metshin.

Large-scale works on improvement are already carried out on the territory of the Family Center “Kazan”, the venue of the Festival of fans. Walking areas will appear along Dekabristov Street. The new road will connect the streets Sibgat Hakim and Chistopolskaya.

“We won’t have a second opportunity to make a first impression. Therefore, we are preparing for this event in order to be remembered by our guests who fly to us from all over the world across the ocean”, said I.
