I. Metshin: “There are no such amounts in an overhaul in any region of the country”

(KZN.RU, March 14). The capital of Tatarstan is leading among other cities with a million population in terms of the pace of urban infrastructure renewal and will maintain high rates of work. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, assured the residents of this city during the program “Theme” on the TV channel “Efir”. This year, 18 kindergartens, 8 teenage clubs, 21 polyclinics, and 6 women's consultations will be renovated.

One of the residents of the city raised the issue of repairing children's preschool facilities.

Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, replied that kindergarten №275 on Ibrahimov Prospect will be repaired this year. He added that if 15 preschool institutions were repaired in the capital of Tatarstan last year, then this year it is planned to do 18 kindergartens and one school. In addition, major repairs will take place in 8 teenage clubs.

“In general, the plans for the major overhaul are great”, noted I. Metshin. “We have made a big step forward in this direction. There are no such amounts in an overhaul in any region of the country, except, perhaps, Moscow and St. Petersburg”. The head of the city also reminded that 52 polyclinics were repaired in Kazan last year, this year another 21 polyclinics and 6 women's clinics will join this list.

The capital of Tatarstan also continues to gain pace in repair of housing and remain an absolute leader. An overhaul has already been carried out in 2400 houses, this is more than 60% of the housing stock.

The Mayor noted that such significant achievements are a result of the implementation in the republic of important social programs that affect every second resident of the city.

According to the head of the city, such an active development of the social sphere in many respects is due to the high birth rate for several years. “The baby boom that we have seen in the past 10 years and which continues to please us poses certain challenges for us. If today there are 121 thousand students, in 7 years we expect 195 thousand schoolchildren, this is 61% more. This is a responsibility on us. We must think where the children will study tomorrow”, I. Metshin said.

This year 3 new schools will open the doors for Kazan schoolchildren. By September 1, the school for 800 places in the RC “Svetlaya Dolina” will be delivered, one for 1,224 places in the “Salavat Kupere”, and one for 1224 places in the Noksinsky Spusk. In addition, the construction of the school for 1500 places in the RC “Vesna” has been started. “We are opening 3 schools this year. This is a very good pace of work”, marked the head of the city and added that work in this direction will continue.
