I. Metshin: “It is gratifying that Kazan sounded several times as an example in the message”

(KZN.RU, March 5, Ekaterina Vislavskaya). Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, commenting on today's Business Monday the message of Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, to the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, noted that the repeated mention of Kazan as an example of positive experience is the cumulative success of all residents of the city.

The head of the city noted that the media paid a lot of attention to the second part of V. Putin's speech, namely the topic of the country's defense capability and scientific achievements in this field. “This causes common pride, and this is vitally important. But I would recommend you, dear leaders, once again to analyze and pay attention to the first part of the message, which spoke about the development of the city infrastructure and those social programs that will be implemented in the coming years”, he said.

He noted that many proposals were similar to those what is already being done in Kazan. I. Metshin cited programs for the improvement of public spaces, the overhaul of housing, yards, and social institutions, the project “Zhiznelub” for supporting retirees as an example. The Mayor marked that the President of Russia not only set tasks to 2025: resources for their solution are already provided. For example, the spending on health will be doubled, and funds for urban development will be increased.

“It is very pleasant and gratifying that Kazan in the message of the President of Russia several times sounded as an example of how to implement these projects. This deserves our pride. This is the result of our joint work with residents, industrial enterprises, business, public structures, universities, youth, colleagues from the government under the leadership of our President”, believes the Mayor. “Undoubtedly, this is our joint success with the inhabitants. And we will continue to do everything in order to be at the forefront of these reforms”.

I. Metshin urged to leave the active discussion with the citizens of projects as an obligatory point of work in any direction and in the implementation of any project. “We must continue to do this necessarily in any project. Discussions are hotheaded, disputes are different, but the truth is born in them”, he said.

An annual announcement of the message of the President of Russia to the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation was held on March 1. V. Putin noted the need to update the urban environment and cited the example of Kazan’s experience, which should be based on, and also mentioned the international mathematical center.
