More than 14 thousand Kazan citizens passed the GTO standards in 2017

(KZN.RU, February 16, Mikhail Chentsov). More than 14 thousand Kazan citizens completely passed the complex of the GTO in 2017. In total, more than 155 thousand residents of the city are registered in the system, said Svetlana Vostrikova, the chairman of the Committee for Physical Culture and Sports, during the annual report of the structural units to Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan.

S. Vostrikova noted that the GTO complex is the flagship project in the field of physical culture and sports since 2014. For today, four testing centers have been operating in Kazan: the Central Stadium, the stadium “Trudovye Reservy”, the stadium “Tasma”, and the Volga Academy. “In 2018, we plan to open two more centers in Kazan on the basis of the stadiums “Lokomotiv” and “Raketa”, said the chairman of the Committee of Physical Culture and Sports.

According to S. Vostrikova, schoolchildren show a special interest in the GTO due to an additional incentive. “The golden mark of the GTO gives an opportunity to get additional balls at the end of the school when entering universities, up to 10 points. Schoolchildren are very interested in it”, she said.

The promotion of the complex is provided by the conducted actions. In 2017, more than 30 events on the topic of the GTO took place in the city. One of the most memorable events was the action “GTO Dawn”. The event was held on June 22 at 4 am and was dedicated to the date of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War. Also, the festival of the complex for children from correctional schools was held for the first time in Russia, and 78 children took part in it. The city festival of GTO among high school students gathered 2100 participants.
