(KZN.RU, February 9). Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, met with employees of PAO “Kazanorgsintez”, reported on the results of 2017, and answered their questions. The head of the city raised the issue of the need to build schools in the city among other things, given the high birth rate in the city, and said that 27 land plots were reserved for the construction of new schools in different districts of Kazan.
Opening the meeting, I. Metshin noted that the “Kazanorgsintez” today is one of the most important flagships of the chemical industry in Russia and Europe. “Kazan is proud that the “Kazanorgsintez” is one of the largest enterprises of the RT by the number of employees”, said the Mayor. “The “Orgsintez” occupies a special place on the map of industrial enterprises of Kazan”, believes the head of the city. “Firstly, as a budget-forming enterprise, and secondly, as an eco-leader company, which carries out the most serious work on the modernization of treatment facilities. Thirdly, a number of projects important for all Kazan were implemented with the support of the GC “Taif” in the city”. According to Ilsur Metshin, the park of Chemists, landscaped by the forces of the “Kazanorgsintez”, became one of the first examples of participation of industrial enterprises in the renovation of public spaces of the capital of the republic.
The unprecedented program launched by the initiative of Mintimer Shaimiev, the first President of the RT, to provide housing for Kazan and republic residents, the program for the elimination of dilapidated housing, and the social mortgage program were successfully implemented through participation of the city enterprises, first of all, the “Kazanorgsintez”, marked the Mayor. “Allow me to thank all your workforce and management on behalf of the Kazan citizens, especially those who thanks to these programs receive the long-awaited comfortable housing”, he said.
The situation at the “Orgsintez” and other enterprises plays an important role in the development of the capital, marked the Mayor and explained in detail about the state of the urban economy, the development of urban infrastructure, eco-projects and plans for the current year.
I. Metshin mentioned the construction of schools. Now there are 121 thousand schoolchildren in Kazan but they will be 195 thousand after 7 years, which is 61% more. A sudden increase in the number of first-graders occurred in the last 2-3 years because the city set demographic records for 9 years. So, more than 15 thousand Kazan children became first-graders in the current academic year, and another 19 thousand children will go to school in September 2018. As a result, 40% of Kazan schools work on the second shift, said the head of the city.
Schools are being built every year in the city to solve this problem. Kazan is ahead of all Russian cities with over a million population in terms of the number of new schools over the past 10 years. In total, more than 100 institutions were built. Two modern schools for 1224 seats each were opened in the city just in the past year.
“Three new schools are planned to open in the new school year but we see that this is clearly not enough. Today we are faced with the need to build schools as actively as five years ago we built kindergartens”, noted I. Metshin. “At the initiative of Vladimir Putin, the Russian President, the construction of new schools is being supported in the country. We will do everything possible to get into the relevant federal programs”. He also said that over 27 land plots were reserved for construction of new schools in different districts of Kazan.
After the report of the Mayor, the employees of the enterprise were able to ask questions and express their wishes for the development of the city.
One of the employees of the enterprise thanked the Mayor of Kazan and his team for their work. “Especially after this snowfall collapse”, noted the employee.
“This is so relevant topic. So much snow fell for the first time in 140 years. We were able to cope on the main highways without the army, unlike Moscow. But there is still a lot to do in the yards. Thank you for your understanding”, said I. Metshin.
Answering the questions of the plant's employees, I. Metshin told about the plans for the development of the residential micro-district “Salavat Cupere”. Aigul Khamidullina asked the city authorities to launch public transport to the housing estate Zhilploschadka, provide residents with a children's polyclinic, a multifunctional center, a house of culture, and a swimming pool. “The “Salavat Cupere” is not an easy site. Fortunately, the city is growing. We try to build complexly”, said the Mayor of Kazan.
There are 2 kindergartens, a department of police and other objects of an infrastructure are opened in the micro-district. The school will be delivered by September 1. In addition, a free bus from “Salavat Cupere” to Yudino was temporarily started to get to the children's polyclinic, and it is planned to resolve the issue with its own polyclinic in the micro-district in summer. “It’s not about the buses, we have them. But it depends not only on our desire, there are issues of road safety. We have planned three extensions of the road and the construction of a double-track road, along which public transport will go”, he said. “We have a vision for each item, specific deadlines. We will try to ensure that you have such living conditions that you feel as metropolitan residents living in the “Salavat Cupere”.
At the end, the Mayor of Kazan noted that there is always more unresolved problems than has been done. “But we have confidence in the future due to the fact that the city's economy works, that such labor collectives as the “Kazanorgsintez”, and your colleagues working in other areas, work with love to the city”, said Ilsur Metshin. According to him, the collective of the company has its own traditions, whole dynasties work there. The head of the city expressed his respect and gratitude to the veterans of production.
After that, the Mayor of Kazan presented Albert Shigabutdinov, the general director of OAO “Taif”, with one of the highest city awards, the distinction “For Labor and Valor for the Benefit of Kazan”. “Albert Shigabutdinov had a beautiful date (he turned 65 years old in November 2017 – ed.). He does a lot in the republic, even in the capital. He has a great way behind his him. A lot of our transformations are connected with the GC “Taif” today”, said Ilsur Metshin.
He also presented city awards to employees of the “Kazanorgsintez”.
Farid Minigulov, the general director of PAO “Kazanorgsintez”, presented the Mayor of Kazan with the commemorative medal “Kazanorgsintez” for cooperation.
