According to the decision of the Commission for Emergency Situations of the city, the plan “Buran” was launched in the capital of Tatarstan, Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, said that on the traditional staff meeting in the Executive Committee.
“The natural disaster that hit the central part of Russia fully reached us after Moscow. This never happened before: for the night and today's morning, the monthly snow rate of February fell. The situation is clear, we will cope with it”, noted the Mayor and asked Igor Kulyazhev, the deputy head of the Executive Committee and the chairman of the Committee of External Improvement, to report on the situation on the roads.
According to I. Kulyazhev, all the equipment had worked at night in Kazan. The main goal of night work was to prevent drifts on the roads and formation of ice. “In total, the equipment managed to do it. In the afternoon we also continue to work on cleaning snow from the roadways”, he said.
He also noted that bad weather will persist until the evening at least. “Next we will deal with the liquidation of this emergency. The additional technology of road enterprises and other organizations will be attracted for this”, reported I. Kulyazhev. He also asked all drivers to use passengers transport.
“It will be a real battle with snow. Despite the great snow, despite the fact that this is an emergency and a natural disaster, each of us knows what is necessary and important to do that on each site”, said Ilsur Metshin.
