(KZN.RU, December
18, Alsu Safina). Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, urged the heads of
districts’ administrations, as well as the heads of the housing and utilities
committees and external improvement, to intensify the work on snow removing in
the city at today’s Business Monday.
Igor
Kulyazhev, the deputy head of the Executive Committee and the chairman of the
Committee for External Improvement, reported that since the beginning of the
winter season, there were no incidents at road facilities. “The movement was not
stopped. There were comments on the unsatisfactory condition of driveways, a
number of sidewalks and roads in the villages. All of them were timely reported
to contractors and then eliminated”, he said. “At present, the main roads are
in a satisfactory state and works on removing snow, cleaning sidewalks,
bus-stops and driveways, and village roads continue”.
“I agree
with the fact that all the wishes of the citizens have been brought to the
contractors timely. But we still have to do a lot of cleaning”, the Mayor
commented.
“We need to
work hard while the weather allows”, said the Mayor to the heads of districts’
administrations and heads of service organizations. “There are almost no
complaints on the roads. There was a small narrowing of the roadway but all
this was eliminated on time. Sidewalks, pedestrian crossings, bus-stops are
routine work”.
“The
constant shortage of financial and labor resources is understandable, that is
why we bought machinery. Let's focus on the tasks set by the weather and the
decisions of which residents are asking”, noted the Mayor. He added that it is
necessary to focus on problem areas where this work has not yet been carried
out or is not being properly done. “I ask you to control it not from the window
of a car but personally walk on spots”, he marked.
