(KZN.RU,
December 18, Ekaterina Vislavskaya). Kazan took the 2nd place in the rating of
the country's kindest cities, compiled by the Public Chamber of the RF. Ilsur
Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, called this a significant event on today's
Business Monday.
“This is
certainly a great victory. We recently defined “Good Kazan” among the 12
priorities as one of the main directions of our work. Efforts were noticed by
federal authorities”, said the Mayor. “This is the victory of all our citizens,
all public organizations that work in the field of philanthropy, sponsorship,
good deeds not the first time”.
The Mayor
noted that Kazan is becoming a federal platform where people exchange
experience, practice, and their achievements in the field of charity. The head
of the city also reminded that it was decided to make Kazan a regional platform
in the Volga region for the examination of presidential grants.
“We are
given trust so this is our responsibility but we are ready”, he said. “The
sports volunteerism has its own history, school, traditions, and foundation of
those people with whom we are proud beyond Kazan. We will have to work in
social volunteering. But it pleases that we think the same way with our whole
country”.
The Mayor
instructed Damir Fattakhov, the first deputy head of the Executive Committee,
to work with the heads of the districts to include the social volunteering
subject in the work plan for 2018 in order to start resolving the urgent issues
from January.
Kazan took
the 2nd place in the rating of the kindest cities by the results of the
all-Russian environmental action “Marathon of Good Deeds”, losing only to St.
Petersburg. The third place in the rating of the Public Chamber of the RT is
taken by Ulyanovsk. The top-10 also includes Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod,
Rostov-on-Don, Saratov, Khimki, Ussuriisk, and Cheboksary.
