Metshin, the Mayor of the city, visited one of the oldest educational
institutions in Kazan: the Children's Music School №1 named after P.
Tchaikovsky, which celebrates its 85th anniversary this year. The head of the
Tatarstan’s capital visited several rehearsals of young talents, the history
museum of the school and got acquainted with the plans for its modernization.
Ilsur Metshin noted that many famous composers and musicians
among graduates of music school №1 (ed. – for 85 years of existence, about 3
thousand students graduated from the school, more than 600 of which became
famous musicians). “We are proud of the great graduates of the school Sophia
Gubaidulina, Rustem Yakhin, Almaz Monasypov, and others who have made Kazan
famous far beyond its borders. And we will be proud of you, I hope”, Ilsur
Metshin told the children and wished them success.
During the tour of the school, the Mayor visited the
rehearsal hall of the string band, which performed the work “My Way” (J. Revo).
In the next classroom, the Tatar ensemble “Syuyumbike” sang for the guests a
composition “Min Sine Shundy Sagyndym” (R. Yakhin).
Yakov Turkenich, the director of the Music School №1, showed
the head of the city the hall, where the lesson on improvisation took place.
Children with disabilities played music along with others. Vladimir Nenastin,
one of the participants of the “special” team “Ne Za Mi”, a registered
scholarship student of the Mayor of Kazan, noted that studying at music school
№1 gives children a start in life. He also gave the Mayor two albums of the
band. The teachers asked Ilsur Metshin to support the pupils of the school and
organize a concert.
“When you are ready, we will organize a small concert in the
City Hall in honor of the 85th anniversary and the fact that you were included
in the list of 50 best children's art schools after the New Year”, promised the
Mayor.
At the end of the excursion, Ilsur Metshin visited the
museum of the school. Lyudmila Vlasova, one of the old-timers of the school, an
Honored Worker of Culture of the RT, spoke about the history of the
institution. In addition, the head of the Tatarstan’s capital was presented
with the project of a concert hall for children's academic music in the museum.
Arina Sudakova, the representative of the school's parent committee, one of the
ideological inspirers of the project, suggested taking the famous Juilliard
school from New York as a basis. According to A. Sudakova, it is possible to
build a concert hall for 200-250 people in the yard of the Music school №1.
Ilsur Metshin instructed to study the issue of construction
and noted that the existing level is quite high and requires careful analysis.
At the same time, the Mayor drew attention to the need to repair a number of
rooms of the music school and also ordered to solve this issue. “We shouldn’t
just repair it. The walls of the school with such traditions, which is the
pride of the city, must correspond to its remarkable collective”, said the
Mayor of Kazan.
Andrey Lobov, the head of the Vakhitovsky and Privolzhsky
districts’ administration, Azat Abzalov, the head of the Department of Culture,
and others also took part in the event.
