(KZN.RU,
December 4, Alsu Safina). 60% of the monthly norm of snow fell in Kazan for the
weekend. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, noted at the Business Monday that
the main tasks are yet to come and the issue of cleansing and exporting snow is
the number one for city road services.
“November
was easy. Nevertheless, the snow will fall out, and we will need to react in a
timely manner and fight snowdrifts. A 60% monthly rate is a good test to start
the winter season. It's good that it happened on Saturday and Sunday when the
number of cars on the roads was less than usual”, noted I. Metshin.
According
to the deputy head of the Executive Committee and the chairman of the Committee
for External Improvement, 23 mm of snow fell in the Tatarstan’s capital for the
weekend.
“The road
services repeatedly carried out anti-ice treatment of roads to prevent the
formation of ice. The main attention was paid to the processing of particularly
dangerous areas: bridges, interchanges, long descents and rises, intersections,
and main streets”, said I. Kulyazhev. He said that the average daily output of
equipment was 376 units, 214 units of them were for the operation of the first
stage. More than 30 units of equipment and 400 road workers operated on the
sidewalks.
3.5
thousand tons of snow was removed from the city roads to the snow melting
points. “In general, the main roads of our city are in a satisfactory condition
for today, there is no ice”, marked the chairman of the Committee for External
Improvement. He added that the work on road sweeping, snow removal, cleaning of
sidewalks and bus-stops continues now.
I.
Kulyazhev drew attention to the fact that snow, blizzard, and crossings above
and below zero are forecasted in the coming days. “The corresponding
instructions were brought to the work customers and road organizations. During
this period, all the attention of road workers will be focused on cleaning the
sidewalks and driveways and preventing ice or snow-drifts on the roads”.
Ilsur
Metshin marked that now it is the number one issue. “I ask the heads of
districts’ administrations, the Committee for External Improvement, and
management companies to keep it under constant control”, said the Mayor.
