Kazan received the flag of the World Championship “WorldSkills-2019”

(KZN.RU, October 19, Zilya Gayfi). Kazan received the flag of the world championship of professional skill “WorldSkills-2019”. The ceremony was held today in Abu Dhabi as part of the closure of the 44th “WorldSkills Competition”, which was held from 14 to 19 of October in the capital of the United Arab Emirates.

The ceremony of the flag passing was held with the participation of Olga Golodets, the head of the Russian delegation, the deputy chairman of the Government of the RF, the chairman of the organizing committee for the preparation and holding of the World Championship on Professional Skills by the standards of the “WorldSkills” in Kazan. Speaking to the audience and participants of the championship, Olga Golodets noted the high level of the organization of the event by the Arab party and also thanked the host country for the hospitality and the opportunity to exchange the best world practices in the field of professional skills.

The presentation of Russia as a country that will host the championship in 2019 was held before the ceremony. The audience was presented with a dance with the participation of artists in Russian and Tatar folk costumes.

Ilsur Metshin, a member of the organizing committee of the competitions and the Mayor of Kazan, received the flag from the hands of the representative of the United Arab Emirates first and then handed over the symbol to Rustam Minnikhanov, the deputy chairman of the organizing committee and the President of the RT. Also, Robert Urazov, the general director of the Young Professionals Union (WorldSkills Russia), and Alexey Likhachev, the general director of the State Atomic Energy Corporation “Rosatom”, took part in the ceremony.

Representatives of Russia will deliver the flag to Sochi, where the project “WorldSkills Flag Relay” will be launched. The route of the flag “WorldSkills Kazan-2019” will travel through 33 cities of the world, located in 21 countries. The route of the flag in Russia will be laid in those cities, in which the regional championships were held. Then the flag will be delivered to the opening ceremony of the championship in 2019 in Kazan. It is planned that the relay will take place not only on the ground. In December of this year, the flag might be sent into space.

The ceremony of passing the flag was preceded by a summary of the results of the 44th WorldSkills Championship. Russian participants won more than 10 prize places in 52 competencies. Vadim Polyakov, a student of KNRTU (KCTI), distinguished himself as a participant from Tatarstan, who won a gold medal in the competence “Refrigeration equipment and air conditioning”. In general, the national team of WorldSkills Russia was represented by 58 participants, who were involved in all competencies. 8 students from Tatarstan participated as part of the Russian team for 7 competencies.

In total, 1255 contestants and 1084 experts, 60 official and technical delegates from 59 countries and WorldSkills International member regions took part in the world championship on professional skills “WorldSkills Abu Dhabi-2017”.

The 45th World Championship of Professional Skills by the standards of the “WorldSkills” will take place in Kazan from August 29 to September 3, 2019. Competitions will be held on the basis of the international exhibition center “Kazan Expo” with an area of 55.1 hectares, the construction of which will be completed in 2018.
