(KZN.RU, September 28). Preservation of the national musical culture is very important for us. Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, announced this today at a meeting with representatives of the Union of Composers of Tatarstan and the Kazan State Conservatory named after N. Zhiganov. Asgat Safarov, Head of the Office of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Ilsur Metshin, Mayor of Kazan, Leila Fazleeva, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, and others also took part in the event.
The meeting was held in a new educational building of the Kazan State Conservatory on Bolshaya Krasnaya Street, №35. The facility was overhauled and two faculties were opened: folk instruments and Tatar musical art.
Rustam Minnikhanov got acquainted with the results of restoration works. He examined the classrooms, rehearsal rooms, and also talked with the students of the conservatory.
During the conversation with the music community of the republic, Rustam Minnikhanov noted the high importance of the work on preserving the national culture and traditions.
“This is a very important mission. It is necessary to support the Tatar musical culture, to revive the lost traditions of playing our folk musical instruments. If we lose this now, we will have to spend much more money to restore this heritage”, said the President of the RT.
He noted that today an effective system of musical education is built in Tatarstan: a school – the college – the conservatory. The republic will support this sphere in every possible way, said Rustam Minnikhanov. “But the main work falls on your shoulders. We can help with the premises, provide the necessary equipment, but the main thing is the content part. We see that this work is well done here”, he said to the leadership of the Conservatory.
Rubin Abdullin, the rector of the Kazan State Conservatory named after N. Zhiganov, said that the work of the faculty of folk instruments and the faculty of Tatar music art is based on the idea of preserving and developing national heritage and art. “I think that this work has an invaluable perspective in the modern world, in which it is very important to preserve interethnic and interfaith harmony”, he added and thanked Rustam Minnikhanov for his contribution to the development of national musical art, reports the press service of the President of the RT.
“Mr. President, you supported us at the right time”, said Rashid Kalimullin, the chairman of the Union of Composers of Russia and Tatarstan. “The last most famous composers are representatives of our generation. But now there are such bright talented young composers trained in the Kazan Conservatory, which is very pleasing”.
