(KZN.RU,
September 22, Anton Nozdrin). The central warehouse “Good Hands”, organized by
the charitable fund “Day of Good Deeds”, was opened in the Vakhitovsky district
of Kazan. The premise on the ground floor of a residential building №3 on
Kalinina Street was given to the charitable fund for use on a rent-free basis
by authorities. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, got acquainted with the work
of the central warehouse in new conditions.
The
warehouse “Good Hands” began its work in 2013 on Dekabristov Street. Its area
was about 300 square meters Anyone could bring clean and wearable clothes and
shoes, household appliances and interior items to the warehouse, and those who
needed received it.
The area of
the new premises is more than three times the previous size and is more than
1000 square meters. One-half has already been repaired for the distribution
points. There will be sorting, technical and household rooms in the remaining
rooms. Rustem Khasanov, the director of the charity fund, told the Mayor that
the heating, water supply, and electricity supply elements were repaired, the
finishing was completely finished, new floors were filled after receiving the
premises in the spring of this year.
Ilsur
Metshin asked how the receiving and delivery of things were being done. The
director of the fund told that the obligatory condition of receiving things is
their cleanliness and serviceability. Volunteers sort all received by gender
type, ages, categories. “We gave each item a value in points. You can get no
more than 10 thousand points in one hand”, said R. Khasanov and explained that
this rule was introduced so that people do not take things out by full trucks.
According to the director of the fund, this amount is quite enough to get
dressed completely. Ilsur Metshin asked how big percent of the clothes would go
away. The director of the fund said that everything would be sorted out
completely. “We have a constant receiving flow and a constant stream of people
who want to take things. There is never an overtaking in the warehouse”, said
R. Khasanov.
The Mayor
of Kazan asked if there was enough of a centralized charitable warehouse for
the whole city. The director said that it will be quite enough because the new
points of reception will open on Vosstaniya and Pushkin streets within a month.
These premises were also transferred to the Fund by the Executive Committee. It
is planned to open one more such point in one of the shopping centers of Kazan.
Ilsur
Metshin noted that he remembers well the old premises on Dekabristov Street.
“That cellar deserved respect, as you did with your good work. And here is just
a good, civilized store. Great job that you took such a bold decision and made
it happen” said the Mayor of Kazan.
According
to the fund's employees, children's and men's clothing is most needed. People
who belong to the category of the poor receive things. It is families with many
children, people in difficult life situations or who have suffered as a result
of any disasters, all those who cannot afford to buy it in stores. Rustem
Khasanov said that they receive information about the needy citizens from the
charitable fund “Alpari”, after which they personally contact the person and
invite him to the warehouse. The warehouse is open from Monday to Friday from
10 am to 6 pm.
Damir
Fattakhov, the first deputy head of the Executive Committee, Andrey Lobov, the
head of the Vakhitovsky and Privolzhsky districts’ administration, also took
part in the inspection.

years of work, more than 8 thousand Kazan citizens brought their belongings
here, more than 12 thousand citizens received clothes, shoes, and other items.
