The Kazan plant “Elektropribor” turns 100 years old

(KZN.RU, September 7). The OAO “Kazan plant “Elektropribor”, the oldest enterprise of the aircraft engineering in Russia, celebrates the centennial anniversary. Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, congratulated the staff of the enterprise on its 100th anniversary. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, took part in the event.

Before the start of the festive meeting, the President of the RT inspected the enterprise's workshops, production lines, got acquainted with plans for upgrading the facilities.

R. Minnikhanov noted that the plant was created in Tsarist Russia and passed through many trials. “Your enterprise has stood the test of time with honor. The difficult 20s, 1941, the war when the plant was evacuated from Moscow to Kazan, the 90s”, said the head of the republic. He noted that today the workshops of the enterprise are working in three shifts, the construction department and the partner institutes are developing a unique product that meets the modern requirements, allowing the air force to carry out the mission entrusted to them. “On this holiday, I want to thank the veterans of the enterprise for their work and those who continue their work today. I want to wish the plant prosperity”, said Rustam Minnikhanov in his congratulations.

“100 years is not the final point but a reason to think about what else needs to be done to make the enterprise prosper and useful to the republic and the country”, said Pavel Shatskikh, general director of the plant, in his speech.

The ceremonial meeting continued with the presentation of the state awards of the RT, after which the well-known bands of the republic performed for the company's staff, reports the Tatarstan Government portal.

The enterprise was based in Moscow as the plant “Aviapribor”. It is the first domestic enterprise of the aircraft engineering.

With the start of the Great Patriotic War, the plant was evacuated to Kazan and began the production of devices for frontline aviation, for the tank and shipbuilding industries. During the war years, the volume of production of defense products increased by 3.5 times.

In the 1950s, with the development of rocket technology in the country, the enterprise mastered the production of a special gyroscopic stabilizer (gyro-platform) of a radar antenna for air-to-air missiles and has been specializing in the development and manufacture of precision guided missile systems of various classes.

In parallel with the technical development, new production buildings were built, the social sphere developed.

The plant works in the capital of Tatarstan for 76 years out of its 100 and always takes an active part in the public life of the city and the republic, provides charitable and sponsorship assistance.

The work of the plant's staff is marked by numerous awards for various activities. In 2017, the enterprise was included in the Kazan Book of Honor.
