Ilsur Metshin: “We appreciate the work of every resident, every work collective”

(KZN.RU, August 30, Anton Nozdrin, Irina Smirnova). The solemn meeting, dedicated to the Day of the City and the Republic, was held today in the Kazan City Hall. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, presented city and republican awards to people who made a significant contribution to the development and prosperity of the capital of Tatarstan. Also, according to tradition, honorary citizens of Kazan were honored on this day. Chulpan Khamatova, a well-known actress of theater and cinema, was among them.

Ilsur Metshin congratulated all those present on the Day of the City of Kazan and the Day of the Republic of Tatarstan. “People who deserve great respect for their work are in this room. Each of you has made a significant contribution to the development of our capital. I feel pride when I see the new Kazan, which is becoming more beautiful every year”, the Mayor addressed the audience and added that “there is a significant merit of all who sit in this room in all the achievements that have occurred in recent years”.

“I greet all of you and all the citizens and I thank you for the invaluable work for the benefit of our beloved city. Today we celebrate its 1012 year of birth. We lived this year with an intense working life. Kazan citizens can be proud that there is a significant share of their work in the stable development and prosperity of Tatarstan”, said the head of the city.

The Mayor of Kazan reminded the events that took place this year in the city, the achievements of Kazan, the development of all areas of the life and the approval of a new strategy for socio-economic development of Kazan. “We are sure that the common efforts of citizens and enterprises, the support of the Government and Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, will enable us to achieve a strategic goal. It is to make Kazan the leading Russian center of scientific, educational, innovative, financial activity, and most importantly to bring the quality of life in Kazan to a new level”, said the Mayor.

He also reported about large-scale sports events, thanks to which Kazan once again confirmed its status as a sports capital, positive responses about Sabantuy, which was, held in Paris, and the growth of the tourist flow to Kazan. The Mayor spoke about the continuation of overhaul programs for houses, roads, yards, schools, and kindergartens, the launch of a program for the repair of polyclinics and houses of culture. Ilsur Metshin spoke in detail about the implementation of the presidential program for the improvement of parks and squares. He specified that over the past 4 years, 34 recreation places have been updated in Kazan, 15 green zones have been created from a scratch for more than 2 billion rubles. “The total area of parks has increased by 84 hectares. Today, there are 139 parks and squares in Kazan with a total area of 360 hectares. All the largest enterprises of the city took part in the reconstruction works. I want to personally express my gratitude to their leaders and teams”, said the Mayor.

“Together we are doing everything to achieve our goal to make Kazan a city for a comfortable life, in which every resident will be able to realize his potential. At the same time, we clearly see the challenges facing us, unresolved problems, and critical points that lie in the work of both the Kazan City Duma and the Executive Committee. The leadership of the republic and, above all, our President Rustam Minnikhanov render significant help to us in solving all our problems. We also solve many tasks through the participation of federal programs. Having good support at the federal level, we will continue our work to expand Kazan's participation in state development programs. Vladimir Putin, the President of the Russian Federation, repeatedly cited our work and experience as an example for other municipalities not for nothing”, marked I. Metshin.
