(KZN.RU,
August 21, Mikhail Chentsov). 5 houses suffered due to leaks during the
overhaul in the capital of Tatarstan. Iskander Giniyatullin, the deputy head of
the Executive Committee and the chairman of the Housing and Utilities
Committee, reported this on the Business Monday in the Kazan City Hall.
The speaker
noted that the leakage occurred while repairing the roofs. “An obligatory
condition for admission to roofing works is the presence of awnings but even
they could not save from leaks in conditions of squally winds and rains”, explained
I. Giniyatullin. According to him, people living in the affected houses will be
compensated for damage through insurance of contractors or will get the repair
of premises, carried out by contractors at the request of residents. Acts for
damage assessment have already been compiled, and all compensation will be made
before the houses are delivered.
I. Metshin
complained that the summer imposed its “wet imprint” on the overhaul works.
“Unfortunately, there were houses where force majeure arose: the tents were
torn by the wind, leaks occurred. There are specific rules for compensation of
damage in such cases. I ask that the contractors, who have allowed this, to
realize all obligations in normal weather conditions. I personally will check,
there are not many such houses, and each of them is under control”, marked the
Mayor.
The Mayor
of Kazan also commented on the draft overhaul program of the former hostels,
which I. Giniyatullin mentioned in his report. According to preliminary
estimates, 3.1 billion rubles are needed for repairs, which is equal to the
cost of a two-year overhaul program in the city. “We will definitely study the
draft program of hostels, submit proposals to the Government of Tatarstan and
the President of the Republic. There is a special feature because there are 3.5
times more places for common use in hostels. This imposes special conditions
for carrying out an overhaul to the program so we need to make a separate
decision”, said I. Metshin.
