I. Metshin inspected the overhaul progress of the school №97 in the Boriskovo village

(KZN.RU, August 10, Anton Nozdrin). The overhaul of the Russian-Tatar school №97 is completed in the Borisovsko village, the Privolzhsky district of Kazan. The school, located in the Yakty Yul lane, celebrates its 60th anniversary this year. In the jubilee year, 222 students will be able to sit at desks in updated classrooms. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, inspected the overhaul of the educational institution today. As a result of the exit meeting, the head of the city gave a number of instructions: to work out the question of improving the territory and building of a children's playground.

Bulat Ahmetgaraev, the director of contractor OOO “Portal”, which is leading an overhaul, said that the builders started preparatory work at the end of the school year, and the main repairs began in early June. For today, the overall execution is about 90%.

Alfiya Abdurashitova, the director of the institution, said that the wiring was partially changed in school in 2006, and in 2011 – the roof. However, the full-scale overhaul was not carried out. By today, the roofing has been insulated in the school, the windows and doors have been replaced, and some partitions have been moved. Also, a new entrance and toilets were built, including the needs of the low-mobility groups of the population under the program “Available Environment”. Separate showers for boys and girls also appeared, and the facade was renovated.

“A lot was done, I am satisfied with the work”, the school director estimated the intermediate results. As she said, all the arising questions were solved with the contractor operatively, thanks to what builders have considered all wishes of the staff.

However, a number of unresolved issues remain in school. It is necessary to provide additional financing for the transfer of the heating unit, the interior finishing of the corridors, repair of the gym and roofing. Iskander Giniyatullin, the deputy head of the Executive Committee and the chairman of the Committee for Housing and Communal Services, said that there are two more problem schools in the city: №28 and 40. According to him, a letter on the allocation of additional funds was sent to Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT.

“Budget institutions cannot be identical in such an old city like Kazan. One building is 60 years old, another is 40. We begin to work, reveal what has not been opened for 50 years, and new types of work appear. This should be identified in a timely manner, as well as finding sources and implementing”, agreed Ilsur Metshin. “The school is standing like a new one. And gym cannot be left in the same condition. Sports facilities, including in the place of residence, should correspond to the image of the sports capital of Russia”.

The head of the city also examined the area around the school where the hockey box is located. In winter, schoolchildren themselves pour ice there, and in summer they play football. I. Metshin noted the need for a playground in the schoolyard. He also instructed Andrey Lobov, the head of the Vakhitovsky and Privolzhsky districts’ administration, to work out the question of improving the territory by the beginning of the school year.

I. Metshin marked that major overhaul in Kazan covers all schools regardless of the location in the center or in remote areas of the city. In the current year, the overhaul is carried out in 8 kindergartens (9 buildings) and 12 schools (13 buildings) in Kazan. The total percentage of implementation for kindergartens is more than 83%, for schools – about 90%.
