45 thousand tons of garbage were removed from Kazan within the framework of the spring two-month period

(KZN.RU, June 5, Alsu Safina). 270 thousand cubic meters (or 45 thousand tons) of garbage were removed within the framework of a two-month sanitary cleaning of the territories from Kazan to landfills. Igor Kulyazhev, the deputy chairman of the Executive Committee and the chairman of the Committee for External Improvement, reported this on the Business Monday. According to him, on average, 4.5 thousand cubic meters of waste were exported daily during this period.

Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, thanked everyone who took part in the sanitation: students of schools, colleges, and universities, employees of enterprises and organizations, business representatives, district administrators, the Executive Committee, the Kazan City Duma, ministries and departments, city residents. “I hope that a person who lifted a piece of paper in the framework of a subbotnik and sanitary cleaning will never litter himself and will also educate his neighbors and surrounding people”, said the Mayor.

I. Metshin noted that Kazan won first place in the republican contest, held within the framework of the sanitary and ecological two-month period of garbage cleaning and tidying up the territories in Tatarstan. “It's good. Such an evaluation is the result of a lot of work. And the main assessment will be when we can tell each other that we have the cleanest and most comfortable city”, noted I. Metshin. “This depends on enterprises of improvement by 50%, on how they clean, wash, and plant flowers. The second half is from the residents themselves. Let's hope that we are all interested in the cleanest, most comfortable city”.

According to the head of the city, both residents of Kazan and guests notice that a lot of work was done to clean up the territories of the capital of Tatarstan. “Cleanliness is visible, and it is clear where we still need to refine. We have much more to do”, he said.

The Mayor drew attention to the fact that the last spring month turned out to be cold, and there were not so many people resting in parks and squares. The situation will change as soon as the warm weather is established. “We need to be ready to take out the garbage and continue to work on agitation: to establish the appropriate sold out. I would like to see a more respectful attitude to the city and nature, it is necessary to conduct propaganda in this direction”, marked Ilsur Metshin.

The spring two-month period passed from April 1 to June 1. Subbotniks were held within the framework of this program, during which, in the current year of ecology, the main accents were made at the coastal territories of water bodies, forest parks, green areas, ravines. Mass works were carried out on 75 city territories on the day of the city subbotnik. In particular, it was in forest park territories along the streets Dubravnaya, Minskaya, Tankovaya, Aitmatov, Berezovaya Roscha in Privolzhsky and Sovetsky districts, coastal zones along the Kaban Lake and the Volga River. The territory of Russo-German Switzerland on the stretch from the Millennium Bridge towards the Sovetsky district and around the stadium “Kazan Arena” was cleared. In addition, the green areas are cleaned in the parks Pobedy, Sosnovaya Roscha, and other urban gardens and squares.

Igor Kulyazhev noted “Kazanorgsintez”, the Powder plant, “Ak tash”, “Gran”, “Tatkhimpharmpreparaty”, helicopter plant, KOMP, and “Suvar” among the major enterprises of the city, the most active participants of the two-month period.

“In general, more than 160 thousand people, or about 14% of the city's population, took part in the sanitation activities for the period. More than 4 thousand enterprises, which is 8% more than in the previous year, and 2700 units of equipment were involved”, said the chairman of the Committee for External Improvement.
