(KZN.RU, May 23, Mikhail Chentsov). The most active first-graders –
participants of the Good Deeds Diary project were awarded today in Kazan on
Kremlin embankment during the Farewell Bell ceremony for graduate high school
students. The Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin took part in the awarding ceremony.
Since September, 1st 2016 every first-grader of Kazan has been granted a
gift from the Mayor of the city – a Good Deeds Diary. For the duration of the
year they were supposed to record good deeds and actions. First-graders have
also been keeping the online diaries on the дневникдобрыхдел.рф. They participated in contests and quizzes dedicated
to the kindness.
In December 2016 this project had been presented
at the 1st Open forum “Kind Kazan: developing charity culture” and received
very positive feedback from the experts in the field of philanthropy. So, a
member of the Public chamber of the Russian Federation, head of Social Information
Agency Elena Topoleva called the Good Deeds Diary a unique project. “We know some
similar local examples in two or three schools, but when all city schools, all
students receive a diary, keep it, and it becomes a kind of system – we’ve never
seen it anywhere else. It speaks of seriousness of the authorities and civil
society in shaping the culture of philanthropy”, she said in an interview to KZN.RU.
