(KZN.RU, May 22, Mikhail Chentsov). Today in Kazan IT-Park the second
architectural workshop Spring March summed up the
results of work. During
the presentation, the students under the guidance of experienced tutors, such as vice president of the Architects Union of Moscow Nikolay
Lyzlov and landscape architect from the Netherlands Eva Radionova – introduced
the draft update of some central streets of the capital of Tatarstan. One
of the guests of the event was the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, who judged the proposed ideas.
Svobody Square improvement project was presented. Workshop
participants proposed the idea of a possible redistribution of
traffic flows in order to free up the space on
the square
and make it comfortable for pedestrians. “I
felt the
desire to implement everything we saw. Together we waked down the Svobosy square. It would seem that it’s already landscaped, but we were shown a new vision – with
landscaping, water, lighting”, – I. Metshin shared his
impressions.
Young
architects also
proposed to create small and big bike rings to link the Kazan Kremlin to the Gorkiy Park and Svobody square.
Workshop
participants think that Fuchs square has a potential to open the view to the city and
to provide safe entry to the Kremlin embankment.
I. Metshin
liked the ideas for the landscaping of the
main pedestrian street of the city – Bauman street. The underground part of the
street is to evolve into a modern space
taking cultural
function.
Young architects propose
to restore the climate comfort on the Bauman street near the Kremlin, where due
to the lack of trees in the summer heat it is almost impossible to hide in the shadows, and in winter this section of the street is blasted with
cold winds. According to tutors of the project, correctly planted tree lowers
the temperature by 2-3 degrees.
The head of the capital of Tatarstan addressed to the project
coordinator, presidential aide Natalia Fishman, thanking her and her team. “I'm truly impressed. It
is very rare to submit such a whilesome work with so little time. But you managed to deeply immerse yourself into the subject and did a very nice thing. It is clear that there are a lot of issues to discuss and refine, but the ideas themselves are very
correct”, - I. Metshin summed up. The head of the capital of Tatarstan noted
that sometimes the flight of thought of novice architects is causing a lot of
controversy, but not in this case.
