(KZN.RU, May 22). Projects of improvement of Bolshaya Krasnaya St. and SvobodySquare were presented to the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin by participants
of the second architectural workshop Spring March. The Mayor got acquainted with the proposals
of the architects.
Spring March was held in Kazan on May 16-22 with participation 75
architects and urban planners of Tatarstan, who designed the concept of development
of public spaces of the significant Kazan territories.
Two group of 8 architects from different cities and
countries worked on the concept of improvement. They proposed to pave with stone blocks the area in front of
the Kazan Bogoroditskiy monastery, and install speed bumps in
front of the entrance. Thus
according to the architects, there is no need here to close the movement for
vehicles, but pedestrians will have the advantage. The architects
also propose to extend the pedestrian area and to increase the number of green
spaces.
Svobody square also
needs a larger
pedestrian area, architects propose. The project involves removing
various bushes, and planting trees with large crowns instead. Project developers also
suggested installing a fountain and broadening green spaces.
Ilsur
Metshin responded new ideas with interest and instructed to elaborate the
project.
The event was also
attended by presidential aide Natalia Fishman, chief architect of Kazan Tatiana Prokofieva, head
of administration of Vakhitovsky and Privolzhsky districts Andrei Lobov,
architect Daria Tolovenkova and others.
