I. Metshin: “You teach our children to always strive for new victories by your example”

(KZN.RU, March 2, Mikhail Chentsov). Today the results of the professional contest “Kazan Teacher of the Year -2017” summed up in the capital’s City Hall. 34 people have become winners of the contest. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, awarded teachers and wished them success in their future work.

Opening the ceremony, the Mayor of Kazan said that special attention is paid to the contest of professional skills among teachers in Russia because it is considered that participation in it is the responsible and honorable mission. “You teach our children to always strive for new victories and constantly improved by your example. Thanks to you, dear teachers, the city is constantly evolving, for all implemented projects, goals and dreams originate from the school”, said the Mayor.

The competition was launched in October 2016 and took place in three stages. First, the participants competed in the school and district level, and then the best of the best attended in the urban stage.

Ilsur Metshin expressed the opinion that the level of preparation of the participants significantly increased with each passing year, the evaluation criteria are changing, and with it the prestige of the competition is growing. “This year more than 500 people participated in it, 95 of which went directly to the city stage. I’m very pleased that the competition brings together the older generation of teachers, veterans who have accumulated invaluable experience, and young but promising teachers. You have proven that you deserve the highest awards and sincere words of gratitude. We heartily congratulate the winners and wish all the happiness, health, new professional achievements, and success”, concluded the Mayor.

The average age of the contestants was 38.5 years in 2017. The oldest participant in the category “Veteran teacher” was 76 years old, and the youngest in the “Pedagogical debut” - 23 years old.

Engel Fattakhov, the deputy Prime Minister of the RT and the minister of Education and Science of the RT, noted the importance of the contest “Teacher of the Year”. “For me, as for the Minister of Education of the RT, the work with our directors” corps, a Methodist service, and teachers' housing is the most important issue. Thank you very much, Ilsur Metshin, for you congratulate our teachers every year in a solemn ceremony”, said the Minister of Education of the RT. He also expressed confidence that this year Kazan teachers will be able to adequately perform in the Russian competition as Ivan Filatov did it in 2016, which entered the top 15 best Russian teachers.

The contest “Kazan Teacher of the Year -2017” has included 10 nominations. Compared with last year, the new nomination appeared: “The deputy director of educational work”, in which the winner was Yulia Salyukova from school №8 of the Sovetsky district.

In the nomination "Teacher of the Tatar language and literature" the first place was taken by Gulnaz Galiev, the teacher of the Tatar language and literature of the gymnasium №20 of the Sovetsky district.

In the nomination "Educator of a preschool educational institution" the winner was Marina Dzyk, a teacher-speech therapist of the kindergarten №110 of the Novo-Savinovsky district.

In the nomination “Classroom teacher” the winner became Evgeniya Zarubezhnova, the classroom teacher of the secondary school №82 of the Privolzhsky district.

The best “Teacher of additional education” became Lyudmila Mikhailova, a teacher of the additional education “Center of extracurricular activities” of the Privolzhsky district.

In the nomination “Teacher-organizer” the best was recognized Guzel Ismagilova, the teacher-organizer of the secondary school №170 in the Novo-Savinovsky district.

In the nomination “Teacher-psychologist” the winner was Yulia Fedorinova, the educational psychologist of the secondary school №146 in the Novo-Savinovsky district.

In the nomination “Veteran teacher” the winner was Yulia Demko, the English teacher of the gymnasium №6 in the Privolzhsky district.

In the nomination “Pedagogical debut” the winner was Alisa Aglyamova, the geography teacher of secondary school №170 in the Novo-Savinovsky district.

The winner in the main nomination of the competition “Subject teachers” became Almaz Khamidullin, the teacher of mathematics in the lyceum №2 in the Moskovsky district, who thanked the Mayor and the City Hall for the celebration and shared the secrets of his success with everyone present.

“I have made the experiment and verified the efficacy of the two secrets. The first secret is that 20 thousand times over six months, I said "Almaz, I am the winner of the contest “Teacher of the Year”. As you can see, words and thoughts are materialized and I was convinced of it again. The second secret is that in the modern world, I believe that the key to success is a team. Now, you see only one-tenth on the stage, while the remaining nine-tenths of the merits are a success and work of the team, which is in this room”, said A. Khamidullin.

“In fact, the victory of our young teacher is a great love for children, his work, the city and a great love for the team. I wish you all, that your ray of love for people, for children, respect each other, respect for others and a desire to change the world around them have always been with you”, concluded the Mayor of Kazan.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, I. Metshin thanked all the teachers for their hard work and congratulated the beautiful half of the teachers with the upcoming holiday of March the 8th.

Engel Fattahov, the deputy Prime Minister of the RT and the minister of Education and Science of the RT took part in the ceremony. Ilsur Hadiullin, the head of the of the Education Department of the Kazan Executive Committee, the heads of regional administrations and others were also present at the event.
