February 25). Today Mintimer Shaimiev, the State Counselor of the RT, met with
Naina Yeltsina, the wife of the first President of Russia Boris Yeltsin, and
his daughter Tatyana Yumasheva. They arrived in Kazan today for the traditional
visit to the competition of the International tennis tournament “Yeltsin
Cup-2017”.
The meeting
was attended by Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, and his wife Gulnara, Shamil
Tarpishchev, the President of the Russian Tennis Federation and a member of the
IOC, Vladimir Shevchenko, a member of the Foundation Board of the “Boris
Yeltsin Presidential Center”, and a former adviser to the President of the
Russian Federation, and Valentin Yumashev.
The
International tennis tournament of series ITF “Yeltsin Cup-2017” takes place
from 18 to 26 February at the courts of the Kazan Tennis Academy, which takes
the country's largest youth competitions for the seventh time. The first
tournament was held on February 28, 2011. It was established by the Yeltsin
Fund in the year of 80th anniversary of the Boris Yeltsin’s birth.
Naina
Yeltsina, Valentin Yumashev and Tatyana Yumasheva visited the final matches of
the doubles today. The guests also visited the Kazan Mother of God Monastery
and exhibition complex “The Panorama of Kazan”.
Tomorrow,
on February 26, they will attend the final competition in singles and will take
part in the awarding ceremony, reports the Tatarstan Government Portal.
