February 16). The two-day visit of Anne Hidalgo, the Mayor of Paris, to Kazan
continues. Today, A. Hidalgo visited the association of the French culture
spread “Alliance Francaise-Kazan”. Members of the French delegation got
acquainted with the work of the Alliance, accompanied by Ilsur Metshin, the
Mayor of the Tatarstan’s capital, and Evgeniya Lodvigova, the deputy head of
the municipal formation of Kazan.
The
“Alliance Francaise-Kazan” is functioning in a historic noble residence: the
House of Banartsev (Street K. Marx, 18). The building is a cultural heritage
site of national importance. It has more than 6000 objects of the interior from
the Western Europe of XVI-XIX centuries. Members of the delegation visited the
dining room, the small amber living room and the large fireplace hall. The Book
of the XVIII century with the decrees of the French kings got the attention of
the guests.
After a
short tour, Rosa Gubaidullina, the vice president of the organization, Regina
Bogomazova, the director, Reseda Ismagilova, the deputy director and the head
of programs in French, told in detail about the Alliance to the Mayor of Paris.
In particular, they noted that the objective of the association is to spread
the French language in Tatarstan, the development of language and cultural
exchanges. Leaders of the “Alliance Francaise-Kazan” reported that the
organization assists in the study of French language, organizes cultural events
with the participation of French representatives and more.
Anne
Hidalgo praised the work of the Alliance and wrote in the book of honorable
guests. “In appreciation of the outstanding work that has been done in Kazan.
Thank you for your selflessness. Best regards, Anne Hidalgo”, wrote the Mayor
of Paris.
Also, a
tour of the Staro-Tatarskaya Sloboda was carried out for the French delegation
today. Anne Hidalgo, the Mayor of Paris, accompanied by Andrei Lobov, the head
of the Vakhitovsky and the Privolzhsky districts administration of Kazan, Daria
Sannikova, the director of the Tourism Promotion Committee, and others visited
cultural sites from the Tatar nation formation in the late XIX-early XX
century. In addition, Anne Hidalgo visited the Kazan Kremlin, the sports
facilities of the city and the Soviet lifestyle museum.
