(KZN.RU, December 21, Zilya Gayfi). Commissioning of 800 thousand square meters of housing is planned in Kazan this year, which is 5% more than last year. This was announced during the show “Theme” on the channel “Efir” with Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan.
According to the head of the city, the number of projects under construction is one of the indicators of the city development level along with investment attractiveness and fertility statistics. “The number of cranes, working on building sites, is striking, it is an indication if the city is living or not. The sphere of housing construction is a kind of “litmus test” of the city development. Of course, small and medium businesses, large enterprises had a lot of struggle this year. However, some have strengthened positions, expanded market and increased profits. New projects are open, including in the sphere of housing construction”, said the Mayor.
Last year, 762 thousand square meters of housing were put into operation in Kazan. That allowed the Tatarstan's capital to take the leading positions among the cities with million population of Russia on the volume of construction works for the year. Businesses and organizations of the city passed 10,004 apartments with total area of 588,300 square meters.
