November 22). Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan and the President of the
football club “Rubin”, took part in the regular meeting of the Executive
Committee of the Russian Football Union, which was held in the Football House
in Moscow.
As part of
the agenda, the Executive Committee members discussed a number of issues: the
nomination of a candidate from the RFU into the FIFA Board, the determination
of candidates for the President of Russia on football scholarships for 2017,
social support of veterans of the national football, sports refereeing and
other topics.
In
particular, the proposals on the mechanism of appointment of judges for the
national championship matches were announced at the meeting. “For me, as the
President of the “Rubin”, concrete proposals were made on the mechanism of
judges’ election for the Premier League matches. Vitaly Mutko (President of the
RFU) expressed them. If they are implemented, the disputes will be much less”,
quoted the words of the Mayor of Kazan the news agency “TASS”.
Ilsur
Metshin was elected to the new Executive Committee of the RFU in the
extraordinary conference of the organization on September 24 in Moscow. In
total, 21 people joined the Executive Committee of the RFU. Also the President
of the Russian Football Union was re-elected at the conference: Vitaly Mutko,
the minister of Sport of the RF, was chosen. In addition, the strategy of
football development in Russia until 2030 was adopted as a basis for the work
of the organization.
