Agricultural fairs continue their work in Kazan

(KZN.RU, November 5, Mikhail Chentsov, Anton Nozdrin). Traditional agricultural fairs continue their work in Kazan. Every Saturday farmers from all over Tatarstan for 9 weeks offer citizens to buy agricultural products by an affordable price: 10 rubles per kg for potatoes, 28 cents per liter of milk, 50 rubles per kg for buckwheat, etc. The trading covers all Kazan thanks to the organization of ten sites in the city. The Mayor of Tatarstan’s capital visited the two trade sites today in the early morning on the avenue Yamashev and a new hip fair, which is located on the street Lavrentyev, 10. The Mayor talked to sellers of agricultural products, as well as assessed the quality of traded goods.

Farmers from Verkhneuslonsky, Kaibitsky, Novosheshminsky and Spassky regions of the republic presented their products at the site next to the hypermarket “Bahetle” (prospect Yamashev, 71a). As said Artur Gafiyatullin, the farmer from Kaibitsky region, the first visitors arrive very early. “We are already at the fair at 2 o'clock in the morning to have enough time for spreading the goods because many buyers come early in the morning. There are regular customers among them”, said the farmer.

I. Metshin praised the diversity of the fairs’ products, asking where the fish was caught in one of the fish stalls. “Everything is fresh, from our rivers the Volga and the Kama”, said fishermen, satisfied with their prey. The Mayor said that such fairs are a good support for the locals, who can purchase high quality products for the future and at prices below than in stores.

Zulfiya Karimova, one of the saleswomen of meat product, said that the demand is very high. “During the day we usually sell all we brought”, she said, and then her words were confirmed when a small queue wanting to buy fresh beef by 250 rubles per kg formed at her counter.

Products on 7 million rubles were brought to the fairgrounds on the prospect Yamashev for the previous Saturday. 8 fairs were already held in Kazan since the autumn, during which products, which are worth 294.5 million rubles, were brought.

Also, the Mayor visited a new hip fair, which is located on the street Lavrentyev, 10. The Mayor of Kazan got acquainted with the work of the laboratory of veterinary-sanitary examination, where fair’s products are checked by special devices – nitrate-testers. Ilsur Metshin talked to the sellers. Dinar Hamdeev, a resident of the Baltasinsky area, said that he was working here for 6 weeks. “I like it here. I would like to continue to work”, said the farmer. According to him, usually he brings 2 beef carcass to the fair. “All is sold out. Nothing remains”, said D. Hamdeev. Also, the seller has thanked the Mayor for organizing of trading places. I. Metshin noted that work of the fairs was made possible thanks to the support of Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of Tatarstan.

Local residents have turned to the Mayor of Kazan with the words of gratitude for holding fairs, too. “Prices are lower here, and everything is always fresh”, noted buyers and asked to extend the range of the fair. I. Metshin instructed to study the issue.

Ivan Kuznetsov, the deputy head of the Economic Development of the Kazan Executive Committee, Ruslan Zainetdinov, the chairman of the Committee of the consumer market, Timur Alibaev, the head of the Aviastroitelny and Novo-Savinovsky districts administration, and others also participated in the inspection of fairs.

Agricultural fairs are held at 10 sites in different districts of Kazan:

Aviastroitelny - on the street Leningradskaya, 27, near hypermarket “Bahetle”;

Vahitovsky - at the site behind of the Chekhovsky market in the territory of the Prefecture of “Old Town” on the street K. Tinchurin;

Kirovsky - on the street Krasnokokshayskaya 152/2 (The Mall “Yagodnaya Sloboda”), in the Yudino village (street Illich, 1);

Moskovsky – on the site at the intersection of streets Vosstaniya and Kulakhmetov (neat the Mall “Udacha”);

Novo-Savinovsky – on the prospect Yamashev, 71a (near hypermarket “Bahetle”);

Privolzhsky – in front of the CC “Chulpan” (Prospect Pobedy, 48);

Sovetsky - on the territory of the agro-industrial park “Kazan” and in a residential area in Derbyshki on the street Lipatov, 7.
