November 4). Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of Tatarstan, today conducted a
meeting of the Republican organizing committee “Russia-2018” in the House of
Government of the RT. Ildar Khalikov, the Prime Minister of Tatarstan, Ilsur
Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, representatives of the republican ministries and
departments attended the meeting.
Opening the
meeting, Rustam Minnikhanov reminded that the draw for the FIFA Confederations
Cup 2017 will be held on November 26 in Kazan. He marked that such a serious
event must be organized and carried out at a high level. Rustam Minnikhanov
noted that Vitaly Mutko, the deputy Prime Minister of Sport, Tourism and Youth
Policy, gave a number of orders at the last meeting of the organizing committee
“Russia 2018”, relating to security, logistics, transport services, catering
parties, as well as training sports facilities for holding the Confederations
Cup 2017.
The stadium
“Kazan Arena’ will be the main venue of the event in Kazan. Rustam Minnikhanov
emphasized that it is important to ensure that all preparatory work in
synchronous mode, in accordance with the FIFA requirements. In addition, it is
necessary to build five training grounds in preparation for events of the
Confederations Cup 2017. The President noted that it is necessary to define a
timetable for the work.
Dmitry
Godunov, the operational director of the ANO “Organizing Committee “Russia
2018”, made a presentation on the preparations. He reminded that 225 days left
before the Confederations Cup 2017. Matches will be held in June/July of next
year, and in December 2017 (Moscow) the no less important event will take
place: the final draw for the World Cup 2018. Dmitry Godunov also said that
preparations for the match will be held at the stadium “Kazan Arena”, including
the building of temporary infrastructure.
The members
of the Republican organizing committee “Russia-2018” discussed the financing of
a number of events to ensure the security and other aspects, reports the
