I. Metshin: “We are a mature political force, if we promised - we do”

(KZN.RU, November 1, Mikhail Chentsov). The XXVI conference of the Tatarstan regional branch of All-Russian political party “United Russia” was held in Kazan. Ilsur Metshin, the Kazan secretary of the local branch of the party, held a conference. 220 delegates out of 261 were present; the quorum was enough for decision-making. Damir Fattakhov, the first deputy head of the Executive Committee, and Natalya Grechannikova, the head of the Executive Committee of the Kazan local branch of the party “United Russia”, also participated in the conference.

The summing up of the last election campaign of deputies to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the seventh convocation became the main issue on the agenda. Ilsur Metshin noted that the convincing victory of the “United Russia” at all stages of the electoral marathon proved that there is no another team in Russia and Tatarstan that is able to withstand a variety of crises and shocks. The Mayor is particularly noted the results of the vote in the State Duma. “The inhabitants of the republic and the city supported our party’s “Team of Tatarstan”, headed by its leader Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the Republic, by a majority vote. 85.27% of Tatarstan residents voted for the regional list of the “United Russia”, it is the third result in the Russian Federation. 73.35% voted for the party “United Russia’ in Kazan”, cited I. According to the Secretary of the Kazan local branch of the party, the choice, made by the majority of voters, does not give the right to rest for deputies of the “United Russia”. “This is kind of a political advance by the inhabitants of the republic and Kazan, which is still needs to be worked out. What was promised during the campaign must be done”, stressed I. Metshin.

The head of Tatarstan’s capital reported that the basic guidelines for further development are the official Order of Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of Tatarstan, and the Strategy-2030 of the Republic, approved by Parliament as the law. In addition, the city authorities are focused on the concept of Kazan-2030, including the characteristics of a comfortable and vibrant city with strong economic growth, public power and safe urban environment.

I. Metshin also noted that growth in categories such as birthrate, tourism, increase in the proportion of citizens, who regularly involved in sports, were the result of sustained development. “The level of confidence in Kazan Society is 0.65 points, which is not only higher than the national average, but higher than in some European countries such as Italy, Poland and France. This is good news, but at the same time, we understand that the city is still at the start. As they say, the city is good not when it is rich, but when its people feel happy”, stressed the Secretary of the Kazan local branch of the party.

In addition, the Mayor of Kazan announced goal to be achieved by 2030. “We have to double the volume of investments in the economy of the city, to increase the share of small and medium-sized enterprises in the gross territorial product up to 50%, the share of innovative products - up to 30%, and the volume of tourist flow to 5 million people”, said I. Metshin.

Kazan Mayor also pointed the problems. Housing industry raises a number of complaints among them in terms of repairs of apartment buildings, landscaping of yards and inter-blocks driveways. “Despite this, we are moving here with the help of the republic and the government support and have already resulted in the order the half of households, updated every second meter of asphalt. There are still a lot of problems that need to be solved. We as a responsible mature political force do not promise what we cannot do, but if we have promised – we do”, concluded I. Metshin.

Delegates also approved the changes in the local political council of the Kazan branch of the party. The updated list of local political council includes Evgeny Varakin, the head of the Office of the Executive Committee, Natalia Grechannikova and others.

At the end of the conference traditionally Ilsur Metshin handed membership cards to new members of the party “United Russia”. In addition, some members of the party were awarded by Letters of Gratitude for their efficient work in the implementation of party projects and actively participation in the campaign.
