Ilsur Metshin visited the overhauled building of the first Engineering Lyceum in the RT

(KZN.RU, September 2, Zilya Gayfi). Students of the Kazan Engineering Lyceum meet the new school year in the overhauled building. In addition, a multipurpose sports ground built to the Day of Knowledge for more than 100 gifted students in the framework of the national program. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, visited the first Engineering Lyceum in Tatarstan today, where a unified educational concept in the field of engineering is realized. The Mayor looked at the renewed classrooms and got acquainted with the projects of the future constructors.

Training in the Engineering Lyceum is conducted in four areas: aircraft equipment, ground transportation, electronics, IT-technology and industrial design. Enrollment is in continuous operation, staffing is 100%. Today it is 21 people, mostly teachers of the highest qualification category, two candidates of sciences. Venera Hairutdinova, the director, said that children from 5-7 grades educated at the Lyceum (currently 104 children), in the future it is planned to continue education up to the 11 grade. Children are guaranteed a basic education program for the Learning Standards - Physics and Mathematics Lyceum in-depth study of mathematics, physics and technology, including the design, programming and electronics with the support of KNRTU (KAI).

A feature of the Lyceum is that there is technological class laboratories created: metalwork, radio installation, prototyping - for the development of intelligent electronics and robotics. Laboratories are equipped with 3D-printers and 3D-scanners, larten-masters, Lego constructors to study technical disciplines “Scratch”, “Duin” and “Arduino”, based on modern technologies, primary technical modeling and electronics. Students demonstrated to Ilsur Metshin a model of the robot's head, created on a computer, on the prototyping lesson.

According to the teacher Artem Gerasimov, children are happy to attend classes and offer innovative solutions for everyday life. They cannot imagine their future without engineering. “We really like to study here. Develop out projects is interesting. In the future we plan to do radio electronics”, pupils of 6-7 classes Damir and Rayan told to the Mayor. Ilsur Metshin praised the children for work, noting that great ideas are born with simple steps. “Outstanding engineers and designers began their work with technical creativity. Aviation, engineering, helicopter engineering, IT-technologies are developed in our country. You will be able to apply your knowledge in different industries”, said the Mayor.

Children go from standard to more complex projects in the learning process. Students of the 8 grade are now working on the project “Smart greenhouse”. “We are developing 3 sensors: automatic watering, timer and light sensor. Greenhouse called smart, because it works remotely and without human assistance. However we can change some of the settings through the Internet”, said Oleg Egorov.

Students hava the enhance language training with native speakers from the USA and the UK by the proven method of lyceum in addition to the technical creativity. The children learn English and German, followed by international exams, language training in the country and visiting international summer camps, as well as Spanish, French or Chinese languages optional.

The unify concept of education, which will prepare students at the first to enter KNRTU-KAI and KFU, and after reception of the higher technical education - to work in the Kazan companies such as KMPO and KAPO named after Gorbunov, is realized at the Lyceum.

Venera Hairutdinova thanked Ilsur Metshin for his support in the creation of the Lyceum at the concert, prepared by the students. “We are today in a beautiful building, which has all conditions in order to obtain a broad knowledge of the city due to the patronage of the Mayor”, the director said.

Ilsur Metshin marked that the creation of engineering schools is what a lot of parents, children and employers have dream for a long time. “It is nice to be in these walls. Led by President of Tatarstan and colleagues from the Government of the RT, we have worked to open the first Engineering Lyceum in the republic. I see intelligent eyes of students, a great desire to change lives for the better. You are the future of the city, the republic and the country. We believe in you and closely follow your progress”, said the Mayor and wished to students the good study.

The engineering lyceum was opened in January this year on the basis of lyceum №121 (Center of Education №178) of the Sovetskiy district of Kazan. The former building of Interschool educational combine, built in 1963 on the street A. Kutaya, 114, was passed to lyceum №121 and was included in the overhaul of educational institutions program in 2015. Now the building has renovated roof, windows, interior doors, water supply, sewerage, central heating, electricity, sanitary facilities repaired, entrances, front and blind area, performed landscaping and gardening school territory. Driveways and walkways are equipped by sponsorship.

The multipurpose sports ground (areas for volleyball, basketball, fitness equipment) is built on the territory of the lyceum under the national program in 2016.
