Kazan freshmen met the Knowledge Day near the Family Center “Kazan”
(KZN.RU, 1 September). First-year students of Kazan celebrated the Knowledge Day near the walls of the Family Center “Kazan”, where the concert was held in honor of the newly students. Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of Tatarstan, and Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, attended the festive event.
The site near the Chasha filled with hundreds of freshmen’s colorful umbrellas on this rainy day; in spite of the bad weather, they clapped and sang along with the performers and creative collectives. The President of Tatarstan congratulated the future specialists on the holiday. He noted that much has been done in the country in recent years in social terms, in terms of economic development and, most importantly, in terms of the transformation of higher education. “We are proud of our universities, and confident that the knowledge and specialization, which you get at higher education institutions, will give you a high competitive level. The main of the program-2030, which we set ourselves as a priority, is a human capital”, said R. Minnikhanov.
The festive concert program continued with performances of the rock band “Progulschiki”, Aidar Suleymanov, and the dance theater “Saidashev”. The main surprise and the headliner of the event was the popular rapper T-Killah, who was invited to Kazan to the Knowledge Day. The rapper thanked all the participants for their perseverance in this chilly weather and congratulated the students on the occasion, performing his hits “Above Ground”, “Freezing” and others.
More than 20 thousand people will start their studies in 2016 in Kazan universities. The Knowledge Day in the format of the concert was first held last year at the site before the stadium “Kazan Arena”.
Asgat Safarov, the head of the Office of the President, Leila Fazleeva, the assistant of the President of the RT, Damir Fattakhov, the first deputy head of the Executive Committee, Guzel Gabbasova, the chief of the Kazan Registrar Office, and rectors of Kazan leading universities also attended the festive event.
