I. Metshin: "Kazan can be turned into the most comfortable city only with the support of our citizens"

The unprecedented program for the beautification of parks and gardens of Kazan, which was launched at the initiative of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, will continue this year. But it is possible to make the city a truly beautiful and well-maintained only with the participation of all the residents in the work. Such an opinion was expressed by the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin at the last staff meeting today. He called on all citizens to actively participate in the ennoblement of the capital of Tatarstan, and recalled that this is a good way for the major companies to proclaim loudly about their brand.

"We have set the task of the next five years to ourselves - to transform Kazan into a clean, well-groomed, well-maintained city. We have to work to do this. We cannot perform this only by force of some specialized companies; we need the participation of each resident. We are very grateful to everyone who supports this direction, - I. Metshin said. - It is also important to continue to work with our investors, industrial enterprises, socially responsible businessmen. It is important to understand that these sites are a good way for a statement of their brand for the investors themselves". Also the head of the city noted the importance of the fact that the practice of public discussions in addressing the main points in the improvement of a park or public garden revived in Kazan. "We know how difficult it is to come to a common denominator, but it is important to hear the opinion of every citizen, which concerns the park or public space. It is very important that we have learned to work with it", - Mayor said.

As Deputy Head of the Executive Committee Chairman of the Committee of improvements Igor Kulyazhev reported, urban services of Kazan have already started landscaping of public spaces. By late summer square at st. Parin and Gorkinsky-Ometevsky Forest Park will have a new life. In addition, the work of renewal of Uritsky, "Wings of the Soviets", "Black Lake" and Lyadsky Garden parks, begun last year, will be continued. 300 million rubles were allocated for these purposes from the state budget. 150 million rubles are planned to be attracted from extra-budgetary sources.

To green areas were really interesting and comfortable for people, this year all parks improvement projects have been developed by professionals with the participation of local residents, creative initiative groups and representatives of social, sporting and youth organizations for the first time. Proposals for improvement of territories, received at the Internet portal park.tatar, were also taken into account. Each site was treated individually; the surrounding external objects of city infrastructure were taken into account. All design solutions were protected during public discussions.

As a result, the square at st. Parin, stretching from the Universiade Village to the metro station "Prospect of Victory", will be landscaped as a boulevard with multilevel lighting, sports and "space" playground, flower beds and fruit trees, dog walking area. Existing front gardens will be landscaped and transferred "under supervision" of locals.

In Gorkinsky-Ometevsky forest at Pobeda avenue, that occupies a considerable part of Privolzhsky and the Sovietsky districts, installation of lighting at the center and trails, construction of ski trails, cycle routes, installation of convenient bridges in the gully area, coastal protection are planned. In the central zone of the forest children's and sports fields, rental, environmental information center will accommodate. However, the project takes into account the maximum preservation of the natural landscape and green areas, natural cover of tracks in the forest zone. Functional objects will be placed in an area free of trees, and the new track will be used as a separation of quiet pedestrian routes and active sports.

As part of the second phase of the improvement of the park "Wings of the Soviets" it is scheduled to perform work on the creation of children's play and sports areas, and areas of dog walking. In addition, additional entrances, paths with lighting, benches and bins, additional toilet module will be equipped.

In the Uritsky Park it is expected to perform recovery of coasts, facing the lake and the canal, repair of bridges and piers. There comfortable benches, additional lighting and dog walking area should appear. Versions of the logo and corporate style of the park are already developed, the final version will be determined before the end of June by a vote of the residents.

In the park "Black Lake", where the dismantling of old buildings has been made last year, playground equipment, the replacement of lighting and small architectural forms, the repair and construction of stairs scene, waterproofing of a bowl of the lake will be made. Arrangement of wooden pergolas and pavilions is scheduled to be performed next year.

In Lyadsky garden it is planned to install a multifunctional hall with toilet and a law enforcement point with the possibility of placing objects of small retail network for ice cream and soft drinks trade.

In the autumn at each facility planting of trees and shrubs, lawns device are planned.

Recall, today in Kazan there are 132 parks covering about 300 hectares. In 2015 in the country, which has been declared the Year of parks and gardens, work to revive the 28 urban green spaces, the area of ​​which amounted to half of all existing parks, was conducted.
