Ilsur Metshin instructed to consider options for commemorating of Asgat Galimzyanov

(Kazan City KZN.RU, January 18). Mayor Ilsur Metshin supported the initiative of citizens by naming of one of the streets in honor of the famous philanthropist Asgat Galimzyanov, who died on 3 January.

"Requests to memorialize name of Asgat Galimzyanov come to my online reception. I support the initiative of citizens. This man deserves to be remembered about him. This is an example to follow: he was doing holy work quietly, calmly throughout his life"- I. Metshin noted merits of one of the most respected citizens of Kazan.

The Mayor instructed the City Commission on toponymy to consider options for streets that can get the name of A.Galimzyanov, discuss them with the public and offer for the approval of Kazan City Duma.

Mayor of Kazan called for heads of districts and divisions, as well as the Kazan City Duma deputies to dedicate 2016 to priority "Kazan - a kind city".

Honorary Citizen of Kazan Asgat Galimzyanov was known as one of the most active philanthropists of the city. Working as a carter at the Kazan farm market, he was raising livestock in his shed and gave to orphanages more than 80 buses and cars. It was he who became the prototype of the monument of Benefactor, which was opened under the walls of Kazan Kremlin, August 30, 2008. The monument was made on the initiative and at the expense of the family of the First President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev.
